British actress Jameela Jamil has slammed several "famous feminist" celebrities for going to the 2023 Met Gala, which was held in honor of the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Jamil seemingly pointed out a double standard with such celebrities, explaining that they were on hand to celebrate the late fashion icon and "gleefully ignore" his "cruel" opinions, yet, calling for the cancellation of others whose views disagree with.
The actress previously slammed the decision to honor Lagerfeld, who died in February 2019, pointing out that other designers should be accorded the honor instead.

Jameela Jamil Slams 'Famous Feminists' For Honoring Met Gala Invitation
The outspoken actress and activist, 37, has again been at the center of controversy. This time, for calling out female celebrities who attended the Met Gala, the star-studded annual event that's become a fixture on the fashion calendar.
In a lengthy post she shared on Instagram, Jamil slammed the event for honoring the late fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, who she noted was "a known bigot." He called out the female celebrities who attended for their supposed complicity.
"Last night, Hollywood and fashion said the quiet part out loud when many famous feminists chose to celebrate at the highest level, a man who was so publicly cruel to women, too fat people, to immigrants, and to sexual assault survivors," the post read.
The "Pitch Perfect" actress then slammed online spectators and other tabloids for choosing to "gleefully ignore" it.
She continued, "Nobody has perfect morals, least of all me, but Jesus Christ, we had a year to course correct here and not award the highest honor possible to a known bigot…and everyone just decided all of a sudden we can separate the art from the artist when *convenient.*"
"And it's one rule for us and another for everybody else. Last night we relinquished our right to be taken serious about anything important," the actress concluded in the post.
Jameela Jamil Explains The Reason For Her Agitation
Jamil used the caption of her post to explain what her observation was all about as she claimed "selective cancel culture" still existed within liberal politics while warning people to be careful about the next presidential elections.
The former "Misery Index" host wrote, "This isn't about cancel culture. It's not even about Karl. It's about showing how selective cancel culture is within liberal politics, in the most blatant way so far."
She continued, "It's about showing why people don't trust liberals. Because of slippery tactics and double standards like this. And it's not just Hollywood here; the general public online participated and were entirely complicit in the erasure of the truth last night."
Jamil concluded her post by saying, "They replaced their pitchforks with spoons last night to lap that s**t right up… If we continue like this, don't be shocked when we lose the next election."
She Accused Colleagues Of Using Weight Loss Injections
During the last Oscars award, Jamil made waves by accusing certain celebrities of using weight loss injections to maintain a svelte figure.
In an Instagram post she shared, the "She-Hulk" star called out unnamed celebrities for using "unhealthy and unsustainable" means to lose weight as she observed the "extreme" weight loss at the award ceremony.
"The images last. But the methods aren't sustainable or normally sustained until the next awards season!" she said. "Where again the images of ageless, weightless women are used as a tool of aspiration."
Jamil said that she "loved so many of the dresses, and the people in them"; however, "it is an industry pressure and a result of f**king tiny samples from designers that are straight off the runway from fashion month, that result in such a forced uniform thinness, and fear of wrinkles."
Jameela Jamil Speaks Out Against Rise In Ozempic Use
Jamil expressed concerns over the rise in the use of Ozempic, a prescription drug used to treat type 2 diabetes. The actress has been a vocal advocate for body positivity and has been critical of the diet and weight-loss industry for promoting harmful and ineffective products in the past, per The Independent.
In an Instagram post, she criticized the rising use of the drug to lose weight, making it scarce for people with diabetes to access, and the unimaginable effects it can have.
"I have said what I have said about the potential harm of people using diabetes medication for weight loss only. I fear for everyone in the next few years. Rich people are buying this stuff off prescriptions for upwards of $1,000. Actual diabetics see shortages. It's now a mainstream craze in Hollywood," Jamil wrote.
In the post, the former "Playing It Safe" host expressed concerns that the trend will "end the same way we were told opioids were safe," with the actress noting that there is "little to no discussion of the side effects in any advertising online."
"I'm deeply concerned, but can't change any of your minds because fatphobia has our generation in a chokehold," she added.
