Selena Gomez is opening up about her anxiety via song in the first public music released since the star received treatment last year.
The singer just revealed a duet she recorded with singer, Julia Michaels, titled "Anxiety." The song deals with the struggles of anxiety and how it effects friends and family, with lyrics like, "They don't understand why I can't sleep through the night // And I thought that I could take something to fix it."
During one of Selena's parts in the song, she also proclaims, "all my exes will say I'm hard to deal with, and I admit it."
Michaels, who has written songs for both Selena and her ex-BF, Justin Bieber, is including "Anxiety" on her new album, Inner Monologue, Pt. 1.
Speaking on the powerful track, Selena told fans, "This song is extremely close to my heart as I’ve experienced anxiety and know a lot of my friends do too. You’re never alone if you feel this way. The message is much needed and I really hope you guys like it!"
"Anxiety" is the first piece of music we've heard from Selena since receiving treatment for her anxiety last year. She recently wished fans a "Happy New Year," and admitted, "Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth."
