If you didn’t think the writers’ strike was a big deal, get ready to be bored af when all your favorite shows don’t show up on schedule.
Writers’ Strike Putting The Breaks On A Lot Of Shows

The writer’s strike is only in its first week and it’s clear that fans are not going to be getting new seasons of their shows. Writer’s showrunners, producers, and more are taking to social media to share that they are not working tirelessly on the shows we love as they would be at this time year.
So far, it was clear news up front that Late-Night shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Show, NBC’s Tonight Show and Late Night were taking a break immediately. HBO’s Late-Night shows Real Time with Bill Maher and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver are following suit.
Comedy Central’s The Daily Show is also standing in solidarity with writers. The show currently has a rotating host situation which means a few comedians are out of a job now.
Hollywood screenwriters of @WGAWest are going on strike. They are fighting for a living wage in the streaming era, says Abbott Elementary writer @BisHilarious, who calls the industry a “gig economy,” where studios prioritize Wall Street, not workers. pic.twitter.com/GDxWvfi5ZJ

Late-Night Shows Not Your Thing?

Don’t worry, no one will feel left out because now the list is growing to sitcoms! Smash hit and Emmy-winning show was supposed to get back to the writer’s room on Tuesday but instead one. The show’s writers Brittani Nichols appeared on Democracy Now! Where she said production is shut down for now. She made it clear, “We are a show that writes while we air.”
This means, “If this strike goes on for a significant period of time, our show will not come out on time and that could change the amount of episodes which I’m sure people will be very upset about.”

Some shows had started writing already like Netflix’s Big Mouth and Cobra Kai. The highly anticipated season two of Good Omens was finally coming to fruition and boom! this happens. Yes, this show is also biting the dust, so far.
Neil Gaiman is not interested in crossing the writers of his show. He took to Twitter to say so. “I’m in the Writers Guild of America. I wish this wasn’t happening and support it absolutely. When I wake up tomorrow I’ll be on strike. (To forestall the inevitable questions, Good Omens 2 is completed and handed in. Although I may not be able to promote it as I had hoped.)”
Ooh so close, but so far for the fans who have been waiting literal years for season two.
‘Yellowjacket’ Fans Should Be Worried

The co-creator of the show shared the news on Twitter that season three is on pause for now. Ashley Lyle wrote. “Well, we had exactly one day in the #YellowJackets S3 writers’ room. It was amazing, and creatively invigorating, and so much fun, and I’m very excited to get back to it as soon as the #WGA gets a fair deal. #1u #unionstrong ✊🐝.”
This is alarming because as you can see, Yellowjackets is not an easy show to film. A lot of it is filmed on location and the longer the scripts take the more proper filming conditions they lose. No one wants this for any of the shows affected by the strike.
Plus, Saturday Night Live is on hiatus immediately so sorry to anyone who was excited for Pete Davidson’s return and Lil’ Uzi Vert as the musical guest. Following along with SNL is The Talk. Once those previously recorded new episodes run out its curtains.
