Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Are Working On A New Documentary With Netflix
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly working on a new documentary with streaming giant Netflix. According to The Sunday Mirror, the documentary will feature Harry and Markle building homes for multiple communities in South Africa.
The series is meant to show the "humanitarian" side of Meghan's work as she increases awareness of safe birthing practices. A source for the publication said, per Daily Mail, "Meghan is particularly keen to share information about giving birth safely with the women she meets."
They added, "The cameras will follow [The Sussexes] as they visit compounds and share medical education." The documentary is a collaboration between Netflix and Harry and Meghan's Archewell Foundation.
It's Their Third Collaboration With Netflix
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's new project is their third collaboration with Netflix. They released their hit six-part docuseries, "Harry & Meghan," on December 8th, 2022, and their second was the "Live to Lead" series, which they released on December 31st, 2022.
"Harry & Meghan" saw the royal duo share some shocking information about their experience with the royal family. The Duke claimed that the crown failed to protect him and his family from the tabloids but would lie to save his brother, Prince William.
Harry said, "They were happy to lie to protect my brother. They were never willing, to tell the truth, to protect us."
The rumored new documentary will follow Harry and Meghan's "return to South Africa" after their first trip, their royal tour in 2019. During their time in the country, Harry and Meghan traveled with Prince Archie as they visited communities around Cape Town.
Meghan Markle & Prince Harry's Trip To South Africa
In one of the first episodes of Meghan's "Archetypes" podcast for Spotify, the Duchess shared a scary story of an incident while on tour in South Africa. She revealed that a heater in Archie's nursery had caught fire, but the young Prince was thankfully not in the room.
She said, "When [the nanny] went downstairs, the heater in the nursery caught on fire. There was no smoke detector. Someone just smelled smoke down the hallway, went in, the fire was extinguished. He was supposed to be sleeping in there."
Meghan also said that despite the scary news given to her and Harry, they still had to complete their Royal engagements. She said, "As a mother, you go, 'Oh, my God, what?' Everyone's in tears; everyone's shaken. And what do we have to do? Go out and do another official engagement."
The former actress said she was upset they'd focused on "how it looks instead of how it feels."
Meghan Markle Signs To A New Talent Agency
Harry and Meghan's alleged new project with Netflix comes days after the former "Suits" actress signed with new talent management. The firm, William Morris Entertainment (WME), also represents a-list stars like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and her close friend, Serena Williams.
According to Variety, Meghan's signing is a significant move for WME, as there's been competition over which agency would land her management after their family moved to California.
The Duchess' team at the agency will reportedly include CEO Ari Emanuel, brand architect Brad Slater, and agent Jill Smoller. WME will also manage Archewell and all its film productions, brand partnerships, and business ventures. Meghan's acting career will not be a point of focus for the block.
