Miley Cyrus's Mom Announces Engagement To 'Prison Break' Star, Dominic Purcell

Miley Cyrus's mother, Tish, announced her engagement to actor Dominic Purcell on Instagram, just eight months after her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, got engaged to singer Firerose.

Tish and Billy Ray were married in 1993 and divorced in 2022 after reconciling multiple times. They have five children, including Miley.

Tish and Purcell started dating in July 2021 and have been inseparable since. Meanwhile, Billy Ray got engaged to Firerose in November last year, three months after going public with their relationship.

"Wrecking Ball" hitmaker Miley Cyrus is about to gain two new stepparents as her mother, Tish, recently announced her engagement to "Prison Break" actor Dominic Purcell. This news comes just eight months after Miley's father, Billy Ray, proposed to his girlfriend, Firerose, who is also a singer.

Taking to Instagram, Tish, 55, shared the happy news by posting pictures of herself and her fiancé, showing off her new ring, a square-cut diamond on her ring finger, while Purcell held her close from behind. She captioned the post, "A thousand times… YES, @dominicpurcell."

Tish's engagement comes after she went public with her relationship with Purcell in July of last year, just three months after her divorce from two-time Grammy award-winning country artist Billy Ray.

Tish and her beau Purcell, first sparked relationship rumors when the blonde beauty left a series of heart emojis on his Instagram post, followed by a message that read "Hi Babe."

According to an insider who spoke with US Weekly in February, Tish is head over heels in love with Purcell and believes he is her "soulmate." The source added, "Tish wanted to keep their romance under wraps for a little while until she was sure he was The One. However, that didn't take long, and they've been inseparable since. She sees a future with him and feels so blessed they found each other."

Billy Ray, 61, and Tish had a tumultuous marriage that spanned almost three decades. They tied the knot in 1993 but had a rocky relationship that resulted in two failed attempts at divorce before they finally called it quits in 2022.

Tish began the divorce proceedings, citing "irreconcilable differences." In the legal documents, per Us Weekly, she mentioned that she and Billy Ray had not "cohabited as man and wife for a continuous period of more than two years." 

However, before their final divorce was granted, Billy Ray filed for divorce in 2010 but withdrew the petition in 2011. In 2013, Tish also filed for divorce, but they reconciled one month after undergoing couples therapy.

Billy Ray and Tish have five children together. Their eldest child, Miley, is a successful singer and actress, while their other children, Brandi, Trace, Braison, and Noah, also have their talents and pursuits.

As Tish moves on with her new love, Billy Ray is also starting a new chapter with his girlfriend, Firerose. According to a source from People magazine, "They've been dating for a little while and grew close while working on music together. It is what it is. He and Tish were over before he started dating her."

In November last year, the lovebirds announced their engagement with a romantic Instagram post showing Firerose's stunning engagement ring. Their love story unfolded publicly in August when Firerose posted a sweet tribute to Billy Ray on his birthday, writing, "The world is a better place with you in it. Happy Birthday Billy."

A few weeks later, the "All Figured Out" singer sparked engagement rumors by sharing a photo of herself wearing a diamond ring. It was later confirmed that Billy had indeed proposed to her the previous month, with Firerose designing her unique ring.

In an interview, Firerose shared details about Billy Ray's proposal, saying he looked at her and asked, "Do you, do you wanna marry me?' And I was just like, 'Of course I do. I love you.'" Billy replied by saying, "I love you. I want to make this official. I wanna be with you forever."
