Jeff Lewis and his partner of 10 years, Gage Edward, have gone their separate ways.
The “Flipping Out” star announced the news on Thursday’s episode of his Sirius XM radio show, “Jeff Lewis Live,” also revealing Gage has moved out of their home.
“This has been a long time coming. We were in separate rooms a significant portion of last year, so it was kind of like a roommate situation,” Lewis explained, adding that Gage is now living in a hotel.
Revealing they tried making it work for the sake of their two-year-old daughter, Monroe, Lewis continues: “I think the reason we hadn’t ripped the Band-Aid off and separated is because A) we had the baby and neither one of us want to leave the baby and then B) financially, it wasn’t the best time because I have four properties right now — three of which are in construction and one of which is sellable.”
When asked by a caller regarding how they will handle custody, he responded, “I don’t even want to go there.” However, earlier in the show, he admitted, “I’m now a single dad ’cause the baby is with me.”
It’s interesting timing for the breakup considering the duo are currently fighting a legal battle with the surrogate who gave birth to Monroe.
The woman admits she agreed to be the surrogate and did consent to the filming of certain pre-birth moments, but alleges she never agreed to film in the delivery room.
She accused the producers of filming her vagina without permission and said Lewis and Gage humiliated her by making “disgusting” comments about her during the episode.
The surrogate sued seeking unspecified damages for invasion of privacy and fraud and claimed the comments made her suffer anguish, self-loathing and depression.
Lewis and Gage have denied every allegation of wrongdoing.
