Bam Margera Accepts Lamar Odom's Invite To His Rehab Center
During a recent interview with TMZ on Manhattan Beach, Lamar Odom shared some quality advice to Bam Margera. He advised the TV star to embrace religion if he's ever been into it, as it can be beneficial to his current troubles. Odom also extended a personal invite to Margera into one of his "Odom Wellness Treatment Centers."
The former stuntman, Margera, caught Odom's generous offer and shared a video saying he'll take him up. In the clip, Margera had some choice words for his family members, and after calling them out on their claims about him running from police, he concluded, "And Lamar Odom, I just heard your message. Yes, I do want your help."
The former NBA star co-owns and runs the three wellness centers, which are located in Southern California. He offered Margera a free stay at any center to help him address his drug abuse and substance addiction. Odom said the invite is only if Margera truly wants professional help.
Odom recently acquired the wellness centers he dedicates to helping other struggling addicts. The move comes after the 2-time NBA champ overdosed in 2015 and suffered multiple heart attacks, kidney failure, and strokes. He's since been able to recover his health and turn his life around.
Bam Margera Surrenders To Police Custody
On Thursday, Margera finally surrendered to Pennsylvania police after he was declared wanted for assault charges. According to police, the "Viva La Bam" star allegedly attacked his brother, Jess, and threatened to kill him and their family.
A rep for the Pennsylvania police department spoke to Page Six and revealed that Margera had surrendered and been "preliminarily arraigned." He shared that Judge Albert Lacocca had set an unsecured bail for Margera at $50,000. He will return for his preliminary hearing on May 25th and is not in police custody.
Margera's lawyer Michael van der Veen, was present for the TV star's arraignment. He revealed to Page Six that Margera had pled not guilty and denied Jess' claims of assault and threats. Veen also shared that Margera will undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, the usual process for defendants out on bail.
He's Been To Multiple Rehab Centers
Margera has recently dealt with many personal and legal issues, which primarily relate to his substance addiction and mental health issues. In March, the "Jackass" star was arrested for public intoxication shortly after a rehab stint.
Margera has been an addict for years and has been in and out of many rehab centers across America. In 2019, the TV personality revealed doctors had diagnosed him with manic bipolar disorder. The year before, he was arrested for a DUI and put in another rehab center.
One of his most recent rehab centers tried a new approach to treating Margera by handling him as an outpatient, which also didn't work. Amid his drug and mental health troubles, Margera's wife, Nicole Boyd, officially filed for primary custody of their son, Phoenix, in 2022.
Bam Margera's Brother Tweets About His Mental Health
On Wednesday, Margera's brother, Jess, tweeted about his younger brother's deteriorating mental health. He tweeted that Margera has become "unrecognizable" because he heavily uses meth and other drugs. Jess claimed that the TV star has had meltdowns because of his drug usage, which is "really scary & heartbreaking."
The 44-year-old CKY drummer further asked his followers if it's possible for police to track a person through their phone. Jess explained that he's "apprehensive" about Margera going on the run with his girlfriend and her daughter, who's only eight years old, because of the likely toxic environment of the car.
