Shanna Moakler has gone back in time to her "Dancing with the Stars" experience with Jerry Springer.
The reality television star reflected on the period in the tribute she dedicated to the journalist and actor following the tragic announcement of his death. He died in his Evanston, Illinois home on April 27 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Shanna Moakler Lauded Jerry Springer As 'Wonderful' In Her Tribute
Tributes have continued pouring in for Springer, who made his name as the host of his namesake show from 1991 to 2018, "America's Got Talent" from 2007 to 2008, and the courtroom series "Judge Jerry" from 2019 to 2022.
In a public show of pain, Moakler took to her Instagram Story to post an image of a presenter holding a mic as she interviewed the late politician and the model on stage. The pic came with a caption that read:
"I had the pleasure of not only interviewing Jerry but being on Dancing With The Stars with him. He was so smart and so so funny! What a wonderful man. Godspeed Jerry!"
Just before the "Friends 'Til the End" actress expressed her thoughts, The Blast noted that one of Springer's friends, Jene Galvin, had gushed, "Jerry's ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried, whether that was politics, broadcasting, or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word."
Galvin, who doubles as the family's spokesman, added that even though the "Since You've Been Gone" star's death "hurts immensely," the "memories of his intellect, heart, and humor will live on."
Another person who grieved his passing was media personality Megyn Kelly, who recounted on Twitter, "So sad to hear this. He came on my show shortly after we launched and told the best stories about his fascinating life and his deep love for America. RIP Jerry Springer."
Actress and former electrical engineer Loni Love uploaded and captioned a throwback pic of her and Springer, "What I loved about Jerry Springer was the way he connected with people in a unique and authentic manner. This is why as a talk show host, he excelled. Condolences to his family and fans on his passing."
Piers Morgan also chimed, "Jeez this sucks. RIP Jerry Springer, 79. TV icon and such an intelligent, warm, funny man." The English broadcaster then recalled working with the "Kissing a Fool" actor on "AMG," adding, "loved hanging out with him (we lived in the same hotel for two years), loved arguing with him (he loved his politics), loved everything about him. Gutting."
The Late Lawyer Was Lauded Even More By His Doting Fanbase
Fans have joined celebs in paying their tribute to the Northwestern University School of Law graduate in the wake of his sad death. Per The Blast, one fan shared a clip that showed a member of the audience and a guest of the "Jerry Springer" show aggravating each other.
"RIP to Jerry Springer never forget this iconic moment from the show," the poster wrote above the video, which has been viewed over a million times. It has also sparked a conversation, as one person claimed in the replies that the producer "carried some of our childhood."
A second person posted another clip from the show, focusing on a woman confessing how she cheated on her boyfriend with a mutual named Brian. Unfortunately, the gist was not new to the BF, as he declared that it was a bet between him and Brian.
"Plot twist! I thought he was going to say that he also had slept with Brian!" one netizen replied enthusiastically. A third footage featured three women standing up from the audience and lifting their shirts after one of them said, "We have daddy issues, so we'd like to have our Jerry Beads."
The aforementioned fashion item referred to the beaded necklaces that the host gave out to audience members who took their tops off for the camera.
One Twitter user commented, "Bro, what a time this was, when you could legit flash your t*ts on public TV and people would cheer you on for it. Gonna miss the GOAT. Staying home from school was the best when his show came on."
