One Fan Reminded Baldwin Why He Is Filming 'Rust' In Montana

"What a beautiful part of the world. No doubt while you were enjoying the view the irony wasn’t lost on you that the only reason you and the film crew got to see it and be in Montana today was because a young mother lost her life," another user commented.

Although the Western film "Rust" was filming in New Mexico in October 2021, it moved operations to Montana following the incident where a gun Alec Baldwin was holding on set misfired, striking and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Director Joel Souza was also hospitalized but has recovered and returned to finish directing the film.

On April 21, special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis formally dismissed the involuntary manslaughter charges against Alec Baldwin without prejudice, which means that there is a chance that he will face criminal charges again.

“Over the last few days and in preparation for the May 3, 2023, preliminary hearing, new facts were revealed that demand further investigation and forensic analysis in the case against Alexander ‘Alec’ Rae Baldwin, III," the two prosecutors wrote in a statement.

"Consequently, we cannot proceed under the current time constraints and on the facts and evidence turned over by law enforcement in its existing form," they continued. "We therefore will be dismissing the involuntary manslaughter charges against Mr. Baldwin to conduct further investigation."

They concluded, "This decision does not absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal culpability and charges may be refiled. Our follow-up investigation will remain active and on-going.”
