Salma Hayek wants her due payment from Ryan Reynolds now that he is the co-owner of a successful soccer team.
The sensational actress needs little introduction as one of history's most recognized and celebrated female entertainers. Given the successful launch of her Mexican vibes in Hollywood, it is no surprise that the 56-year-old has garnered the respect and love of her peers.
Among those who adore the "Frida" star is the Canadian heartthrob and his beautiful wife, Blake Lively. The pair have a close relationship that involves their families, making it easy for the Coatzacoalcos native to tease the "Deadpool" actor about unpaid babysitting charges.
Salma Hayek Celebrates Ryan Reynolds' Latest Achievement With A Joke About Money
In a recent Instagram Story update, the "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" actress playfully called out her co-star for failing to pay her babysitting charges. Sharing a throwback image of herself at the actor's house, the telenovela alum looked radiant in the make-up-free post.
The snap showed the "From Dusk Till Dawn" star smiling brightly at one of the "Green Lantern" actor's daughters, whom she skillfully cradled against her hip. With her free hand, the 56-year-old stirred the contents of a large pot on the gas.
As she multitasked in the kitchen, Reynolds tried to gain his daughter's attention by clapping his hands in the background. Below this sweet image was a screenshot of the Saturn Award winner's post, where he celebrated his Welsh football club, Wrexham A.F.C., promotion to the Football League.
Commemorating her friend's success, the Emmy Award winner jokingly penned: "Little did I know that the person I was babysitting for would buy a Welsh club that would win a national league title! Good for us, maybe now you'll pay me! @vancityreynolds."
Never one to pass up the opportunity for a good laugh, the Canadian entertainer reshared the "Puss In Boots" star's post alongside the hilarious comment: "Your 80 dollars is in the mail. I swear, @salmahayek."
Eighty dollars was peanuts compared to the success of the "Free Guy" star's Welsh football club. Over the weekend, the sky lit up for the actor and his fellow Wrexham team co-owner Rob McElhenney.
According to CNN, it was a night to remember at the Racecourse Ground in North Wales after the Welsh club secured their promotion to the Football League. The team defeated Boreham Wood in a 3-1 match on April 22, gaining the National League title.
Their victory also marked their first promotion after a 15-year absence. Wrexham was relegated to the National League in April 2008, but the club received a major transformation after the Hollywood veterans took over in 2021.
Addressing the club's stellar achievement, Reynolds raved to reporters after the game that the world could finally see his team's potential. "I'm not sure I can process what happened tonight. I'm still a little speechless," the actor began.
"One thing that's running through my head repeatedly was at the beginning; people said 'Why Wrexham, why Wrexham;' this is exactly why Wrexham, what's happening right now, is why," the 46-year-old proudly stated.
On the other hand, his business partner noted that Wrexham's triumph in the National League signified its owners' success and that of the Welsh community.
"I think we can hear how it feels to the town, and that's what's most important for us – I think this is a moment of catharsis for them," McElhenney explained. "For us to be welcomed into their community and to be welcomed into this experience has been the moment of my life."
The American Cinematheque Award Honoree Commemorated Wrexham's Victory With A Sweet Post
Following his club's National League match against Boreham Wood, Reynolds celebrated Wrexham's victory on his Instagram page with a carousel of images. The first image showed the co-owners posing on the pitch with the championship trophy.
McElhenney held the award in the snap while the "Red Notice" star happily kissed the commemorative object. Another image captured the stadium covered in red smoke as hundreds of fans flooded the pitch in celebration.
There were also pictures of the Canadian actor posing with fans, including an unidentified man who received what appeared to be the entertainer's Deadpool glove. Down the slideshow, the 46-year-old posed with Wrexham's striker Paul Mullin, who scored two goals against Boreham Wood.

The actor Paul Rudd was also captured in the photo dump, which the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree captioned with his signature funny side. "Everything I own smells like champagne, beer, and grass," the TV personality began.
"I'm still somewhere between giggling and sobbing. This town and this sport are one of the most romantic things on earth," Reynolds confessed. "Thank you, @wrexham_afc."
