Bill Cosby Calls Upon Snoop Dogg & Diddy to Mentor Houston Rapper Who Dropped Tribute Track

An up and coming rapper is paying tribute to Bill Cosby after the jailed comedian claimed to be a political prisoner, and Cosby is such a fan he's asking big stars, like Snoop Dogg, to take notice of the song.

Yung Giant is a musician out of Houston, TX and released a song, through The Blast, titled "College Life." We're told Yung Giant credits the song to Cosby for his longtime support of HBCUs.

Cosby had been known for his work with Historically Black Colleges & Universities, and held honorary degrees in more than 50, however most of the HBCUs rescinded their degrees upon his conviction of sexual assault after the actor's retrial.

We're told along with the HBCU work, Yung Giant feels Cosby not showing any remorse and maintaining his innocence while claiming that he is a "political prisoner" has inspired the hip-hop community.

Cosby's attorney, Andrew Wyatt, tells us Camille Cosby shared the song with Bill during their evening phone call Wednesday and the 81-year-old comedian loved it, especially the shout out for "A Different World," Cosby's spin-off to his namesake sitcom.

In a statement to The Blast, Bill Cosby says, "Education is the Revolution. Music, no matter what genre, should always be Uplifting and Inspirational. Will Smith, P. Diddy and/or Snoop Dogg should jump on Yung Giant and not come back limping."

Reps for Yung Giant tell us he believes "Dr. Cosby has polarized that 'no' Black Man in America is safe from being a victim of the justice system," adding that, "No matter how much wealth -- we're still a target for racist hatred."

As we reported, Cosby believes his retrial and conviction were politically motivated, and is maintaining he has "no remorse" because he believes he is an innocent man.
