During a recent episode of her "Workin' On It" podcast, Meghan Trainor said some things about teachers that upset many. With Trisha Paytas as her guest, when the conversation discussed teachers, Trainor said, "F teachers," which, for obvious reasons, didn't go over well. The singer recently took to TikTok to apologize for her insensitive comments.

After some creators shared stitches of the conversation about teachers during the podcast, Trainor took notice and wanted to make it right with an apology and explanation. She captioned her apology video thanking one of the creators for bringing her attention to the insensitive words about teachers.

"Teachers of TikTok and teachers of the world, I recently said, 'F teachers' on a podcast, and it's not how I feel," she began her apology. "I was fired up because we were talking about how sending your kid to school here in America is so horrific, and what all of us have to go through, especially teachers is not normal and not okay."

The "Made You Look" singer continued her apology by saying that with Paytas on her podcast and knowing her history with her teachers and her and her husband's history with teachers, she got angry at the moment.

"So, at that moment, I got angry and said, 'F teachers. F those specific human beings back in the day.' But I did not mean that to all teachers," she continued. "I love teachers. I fight for teachers. I think they have the hardest job, and they are the most underpaid. They are the most unappreciated, and they raise all of us."

Trainor began to wrap up her apology by stating that she was not trying to make any excuses for what she said and was "just so sorry."

"I'm so sorry to any teachers I made feel bad," she said. "And I will remind myself that my words could have consequences, and I'll be more careful."

Nearly 3,000 comments were left in the first hour of the shared video. Many thanked Trainor for her sincere apology, and others explained how hearing her harsh words made them feel.

One teacher explained how she felt when she heard Trainor talk negatively about teachers. "It hurt to hear this from you, but I also understand teachers create trauma that lasts forever. Thank you for this. I still love you ❤️." Another teacher added, "As a teacher, this hurt big time. We are so undervalued already. The system is broken, not us."

A soon-to-be teacher also commented to share how she feels, "Soon-to-be a teacher here. I felt shocked when I saw that. I've had good teachers, and I hope to be a great teacher that kids admire."

TikToker Glitter Beard Teach, whose bio on the app says he's a "recovering teacher," shared part of the podcast video captioned, "This is disappointing. Teachers are under attack in the media, and this sentiment isn't helpful. There are bad teachers, but that isn't the experience for most kids. Honestly, maybe I trust that too many people are good. I don't know. I understand wanting to homeschool for whatever your reasons may be. But, this made it through to the final episode?"

In his video, he explains that while he doesn't expect much from Paytas, Trainor's words "sucked."

"The story that they're telling right before this is how when her husband was in school after being in 'Spy Kids,' the principal made this big deal and caused a lot of trauma for her husband," he said. "And I get that there are teachers that cause trauma, and I get that there are awful teachers, but that's not the majority."

He continued by saying he didn't understand why that part of the segment wasn't edited out before being shared. "When you have a following that large and you are that much of a celebrity, everything you say is essential," he said. "And right now, teachers are already getting enough sh** for sh** that they didn't even do. This is a gross miss for Meghan Trainor, which sucks."

One of the TikTok creator's followers was disappointed in the podcast episode for more than one reason. "I'm so disappointed that she had Trisha on her Podcast and then the Teacher stuff on top of it. I'm shocked."

Another teacher wrote, "I work so hard as a teacher… I just unfollowed her." And another teacher added, "I'm so disappointed. I work very hard at my job and love what I do. Why are we constantly attacked? ?"
