'Love Is Blind's Marshall Glaze Begs Fans To Allow Him Grace For Viral Tweet Controversy

Marshall Glaze did not find eternal love with his ex-fianceé in "Love Is Blind." The reality star popped the question to Jackie Bonds, but the 27-year-old dental assistant ended up calling off their engagement and later began dating Glaze's former friend, Josh Demas.
Glaze, also 27, found himself in the hot seat earlier this week after problematic tweets from a decade ago began to surface. The reality star took to his Twitter to apologize for the controversial tweets and explained he had been a "sad teenager" when he sent those tweets. Many of the tweets were targeted toward Black women.
The Blast covered Glaze's initial response. A day later, Glaze took to his Instagram stories and pleaded with his followers to allow him the room to grow and grace to move on from the past.
How Did Glaze Apologize For The Past Tweets?
I’m seeing a lot of my old tweets surface from years ago. This happens to pretty much everyone who goes into the public eye. It happened to my cousin and I knew it’d happen to me.
Let me be clear:

Glaze tweeted his apology on Thursday, April 20th.
"I'm seeing a lot of my old tweets surface from years ago," the marketing manager began his thread. "This happens to pretty much everyone who goes into the public eye. It happened to my cousin, and I knew it'd happen to me," Glaze continued. His cousin is Bachelor Nation's, Justin Glaze.
"Let me be clear," he went on, "As I said to someone earlier, things change. I was a sad teenager with many issues when I tweeted much of that. I've grown and do not think or feel the same way. Anyone with anything to hide would have deleted it, but I left it up for a reason."
"I even had a chance to go back and erase it. I elected not to," he wrote. "It's my progression as an individual. As a human. Those old tweets are my proof that I have evolved. I think God for the opportunity to be damaged, seek clarity and forgiveness, and develop into a better person," Glaze concluded.
The responses were varied.
Actor Angelo Martinez tweeted, "I don't know you, but I commend you for the transparency and accountability. I'm not the offended party, as I'm not a Black woman, but I'm curious to know, did you ever unpack what inspired you to think and publish those things about Black women?" Martinez asked.
Activist Allen Morris responded, "You can grow; you're human, but where's your apology and sense of regret for how you discussed black women? If you have black women relatives, think about how this makes them feel. Don't clear the air unless it includes a Blatant apology," he said. "You were blatantly anti-black women, be blatantly sincere in your apology to Black women."
"Why do teens bash black women and girls?" one of Glaze's followers asked. "we have to stop sweeping it under the rug and make every single person apologize and do something to break the cycle," they concluded.
Glaze Expands On His Plea Of Forgiveness On Social Media
A day after our report about Glaze's tweets was published, he returned to Instagram to continue asking his followers for forgiveness.
The "Love Is Blind" star took to his Instagram stories to honor a few influential Black women and ask his fans further to allow him the grace to move on.
"Please allow me the space to take accountability for those tweets from 2014 and earlier. 2023 Marshall is ashamed of the younger, less developed, and immature version which published those tweets," Glaze went on. "This time, let me direct a public apology to some of the phenomenal Black women in my life. Let this be an apology to all of the incredible Black women around the globe," he said.
Glaze concluded his apology with a video dedicated to a close friend, who he thanked for sticking by him despite his past efforts to push them away.
The tweets have resulted in the reality star receiving death threats. On Friday morning, he tweeted, "ALRIGHT. At what point does holding someone accountable get too far? I've got fake accounts dating me death threats. Really? Come on people," he wrote. (via Twitter, per The Blast)
"One more thing, and I'm logging off for the evening," Glaze's thread continues. "My apology to Black women is how I treat every Black woman I encounter with respect and love. Words mean a lot, but actions mean a lot more," he concluded.
