The secret is out! We now know the answer to the question, "Where's the beef?"
TikToker Jordan Howlett, or Jordan the Stallion, is sharing fast food secrets and not everyone is happy about it. Many vegetarians are not particularly excited to hear one of his latest secret reveals about McDonald's french fries.
Jordan Howlett Shares Many Fast Food Secrets On TikTok
In a few different stitches that talk about the "weird flex in your world that no one else would understand," Howlett shares some fast food secrets for his more than 9 million followers. In one video, shared about a week ago, the popular TikToker dropped a cow-sized bomb about why McDonald's french fries taste so good.
"McDonald's keeps investigating why I know so many fast food secrets," he said. "McDonald's had messaged me not too long ago and said, 'Hey, Jordan, we just want to know where are you getting all your fast food secrets from." He responded to that message that he "can't reveal my sources." They then asked if he knew any more secrets about McDonald's, to which he replied, "yeah, I do."
That's when he dropped the bomb - McDonald's fries taste different from others because of one specific ingredient used. The age-old question posed by Wendy's in 1984, "Where's the beef?" gets answered here.
"McDonald's cooks their fries with beef flavoring mixed within their vegetable oil," he said. "So that's why the fries taste so good, but also so different from everybody else's."
He then added what most people were probably thinking hearing such news. "Probably bad news for vegetarians, but still you know, the more you know," he said. "However, in the UK, Canada, and Australia, they cook it with regular oil, so if you're vegetarian, you can eat the fries at those places."
The video received more than 11.5 million views and 1.6 million likes. Talk about spilling the tea, or the beef broth! After watching the video that vegetarians are probably not so happy to see, many people dropped into the comment section to leave their thoughts; 13,500 to be exact.
"Not all heroes wear capes," one follower wrote. Another added, "Also the beef flavoring has gluten so if you can’t have gluten don’t eat them." Another person said, "Wait so are they not halal? Don't do me like this please 🥺."
On McDonald's website in the FAQ section, there's an explanation in the response to the question, "Do you add any type of flavor when preparing your fries?"
"Yes. When our suppliers partially fry our cut potatoes, they use an oil blend that contains beef flavoring. This ensures the great-tasting and recognizable flavor we all love from our World Famous Fries®. The fries are cooked in our kitchens, seasoned with salt, and served hot to you."
While this information is technically out in the open for all to see, how many people really visit the McDonald's website for nutritional information?
Jordan Howlett Shares Other Fast Food Secrets On TikTok
The truth about McDonald's fries isn't the only food related secret that Howlett has shared recently on TikTok. In another video, posted just two days ago, he shares how he hasn't paid full price for a pizza in over 20 years.
"As president of the fast food secrets club, I'm going to share with you guys the Domino's Pizza fast food secret," he began his video.
"For those of you guys who like ordering large pizzas, okay, listen closely. What you're gonna do is order the pizza online and order it for carry out. You wanna know why? Because when you order the large pizza, put three toppings on there, right. You can put extra cheese as a topping if you don't want like a bunch of toppings. Before you actually pay for the pizza, type in the coupon code 9174. it takes off 40% of each large pizza that has three toppings on it."
He also shared a hack for people who order medium pizzas. "Put five toppings on it, and then type in the code 5162," he continued. "That is a 40% off coupon for any medium pizzas with five toppings on it."
The video has received more than 38 million views in the short time it's been on the platform, and 24,000 comments.
Howlett's followers know he's full of wisdom. "Bro is 27 with life experience of someone in their 50s 😂," one person wrote. Another follower couldn't wait to try this secret out. "Not me trying to order a pizza at 5:40am to see if the coupon works. 😂"
