After being put on hold indefinitely for three years, fans of Walt Disney World can once again become Annual Passholders as sales resumed this morning.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the Walt Disney World theme parks shut down, the company decided to pause new Annual Passholder sales. After the Parks reopened, Disney announced a brand-new Annual Passholder system with different types of Annual Passes; however, new Annual Passes could not be purchased — only those who previously had an Annual Pass could renew.
This morning, that has changed as Disney officially resumed the sales of new Annual Passes.
Fans Wait Hours To Become Disney World Annual Passholders

One fan took to Twitter to share their excitement, writing, “After 2 hours I’m proud to say I am a Disney annual pass holder 😮💨😮💨 ALSO, all passes were still available 🫶🏼 DO NOT LEAVE THE QUEUE!!”

Why Become A Disney World Passholder?

Now is the perfect time to become a Disney World Annual Passholder as the highly-anticipated fireworks show, “Happily Ever After,” just made its triumphant return earlier this month, meaning with an Annual Pass, you can go see this show as many times as you’d like. And a brand-new rollercoaster at Magic Kingdom inside Walt Disney World also just opened — TRON Lightcycle / Run,
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the world’s first “Toy Story”-themed table-service restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, recently opened, meaning Guests can chow down on a rootin’ tootin’ meal as often as they’d like with their Annual Pass.
And for those local to Walt Disney World, Annual Passholders no longer need a Park Pass reservation to enter the theme parks after 2 p.m. on select days — Guests with Annual Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays will still need to make a Park Pass reservation before entering the Park.
Additionally, Passholders will now receive access to select Disney PhotoPass benefits! “We are so grateful for our Passholders who have a deep, strong connection to Walt Disney World, and we are looking forward to welcoming more of you to the Annual Passholder family, just in time to experience the feelings of a Disney Thrill this spring and summer,” Senior Manager of Communications Eric Scott shared in the announcement.
