In an interview, Kristin Cavallari shared her parenting style and confessed that she would not let her children be reality stars. The lifestyle expert says she wants her kids to enjoy their childhood.

Cavallari also opened up about the qualities she seeks in a man, stating she wants someone secure and comfortable, someone she can laugh with, and who can be a "good dad" to her children.

Former reality TV star Kristin Cavallari who rose to fame on MTV's Laguna Beach recently spoke about her parenting choices regarding her children's potential career paths.

During an appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" to promote her new jewelry line, Cavallari reunited with her former Laguna Beach cast members and revealed that she would not allow her three children, Camden, 10, Jaxson, 8, and Saylor, 7, to pursue careers in the entertainment industry until they are adults.

When asked by Hudson about her thoughts on her kids becoming reality TV stars or content creators, the 36-year-old fashion designer and cookbook author said, per Daily Mail, "I'd say no until they're 18. If they want to have a career in entertainment when they're 18, I will support it... but until they're 18, I want them to be kids." 

"It's hard enough being in high school and doing everything you're doing as a kid, so just focus on that," she added.

During the conversation, Cavallari shared that her two boys are obsessed with YouTube stars and even want their YouTube channel. However, she explained that she wants to keep her children away from public scrutiny stating, "No, we're not doing any of that. I don't even put them on Instagram. I try to keep them, kids, as long as possible."

The former TV star also opened up about her dating life as a single mother after finalizing her divorce from former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler in June 2022. She shared her new dating philosophy saying, "I've just taken the stance that until I'm in a serious, committed relationship, there's nothing to report. I'm having fun; I do have good dating stories. This is the first time in my life I've dated."

When asked about the qualities she wants in a partner, Cavallari mentioned that she wants "someone so secure, just so comfortable in their skin," someone who can be her buddy and share a good laugh. She also emphasized the importance of finding a man suitable for her kids who can be a "good dad" figure.

Taking a trip down memory lane, Cavallari recalled how the show unexpectedly came her way while she was still in high school and rode the wave of fame after moving to Los Angeles after graduation. However, the mom of three now resides in Franklin, Tennessee, and says, "It's nice to be out of entertainment."

Sharing details about her life, Cavallari said, "I have three kids, and I have a very... normal life now, I would say, as much as possible, and I've sort of set it up where everything I'm doing now - cookbooks, my lifestyle brand Uncommon James - I can do most of that from my house and just be mom, first and foremost, and it's nice."

When asked about her most cherished aspect of motherhood, Cavallari replied, "It's everything." She explained that children are a "good mirror for us" and "the best teachers."

"Just having all that love and having these little guys to raise and you get to instill what wisdom you've learned over the years, it's given me a real purpose in life, I would say, and it's the best thing I've ever done, truly," she added.

In addition to motherhood, the reality star-turned-lifestyle guru is marking the launch of her latest cookbook, Truly Simple: 140 Healthy Recipes for Weekday Cooking. The 272-page cookbook, packed with over 140 delicious, uncomplicated, and nutritious recipes, hit the shelves last week and soared to the top of Amazon's bestseller list.
