The TV adaptation of the "Twilight" series comes a little over a year since Ashley Greene, who played Edward's sister, Alice, launched a nostalgia-fueled podcast about the franchise.

The Blast reported on Greene's big treat right before its debut. The actress announced the podcast on her Instagram in March 2022, revealing she and her co-host Melanie Howe would be rewatching the films and dishing about them for "The Twilight Effect."

Since the podcast's debut, the franchise's cast and crew members have appeared as guests to share their memories and insight. Greene and Howe have discussed "Midnight Sun" and the franchise's fierce fandom. Peter Facinelli, who played Dr. Carlisle Cullen, appeared on a November 2022 episode!

According to our report, Greene was inspired to start a "Twilight" rewatch-themed podcast due to its never-ending presence on social media and the films' frequent availability on streaming services! Speaking to Entertainment Weekly last year, Greene said, "All of a sudden, people were talking about this again, and I started seeing some of our OG fans were rewatching, but then we had this new slew of fans that were living it for the first time."

She also revealed she knew the series had found success through streaming.

"Twilight" devotees will soon have something else to add to their rewatch lineups!

On Wednesday, the Hollywood Reporter announced the development of a TV series adaptation. According to the outlet, there are currently few concrete details to report about its development. The series is still without a streaming provider and has no writers attached to the project.

Lionsgate "plans to lead the development on the project before shopping the rights to the package." THR also adds, "There is not yet a timeline for when the 'Twilight' series will be taken out to potential buyers" because the studio's priority is to secure a writer for the project.

The series will have a stamp of approval from Meyer, as she is reportedly involved with its production! Meyer's exact role is not yet known.

'Twihard' Fans Weigh In On The News!

The news soon started circulating on social media, with several Twitter users sharing their thoughts!

Popular culture content creator and "The Afternoon Special" podcast host Bobbi Miller tweeted several takes. She wrote, "This will only work for me if it's unserious. Like, make it [a] series of all the ideas Stephanie [sic] Meyer had that didn't make it into the book."

She added, "It would be cool for every episode to be directed and written by a duo of women. The first 'Twilight' had this distinctly different feel, largely due to Catherine Hardwicke and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. Maybe a Karen Kusama and Diablo Cody reunion?" she suggested.

Writer Hanna tweeted, "I know Hollywood is a v cynical cash-grabbing industry, but I feel like they don't fundamentally understand the lightning in a bottle success of works like [Harry Potter] and 'Twilight' [crying emoji]."

TV editor Nora Dominick tweeted, "Twilight possibly being adapted into a TV series is worse than the 'harry potter tv series for me- it was camp and fun, and Rob and Kristen were IT. Why would we do a redo, people?"

A fan tweeted, "gonna listen to the 'Twilight' soundtrack while I pack and pretend this is all a joke that will come to nothing."

Another fan weighed in, "The only reason I'd be remotely seated for the Twilight reboot is if they dive more into the vampire lore and people's backgrounds bc the movies lacked that"

"Nobody and nothing can ever recreate what Rob and Kristen did with Bella and Edward; they were PERFECT. The entire cast was, they are those characters and have been ingrained in my mind like that. You can not remake perfection..." another Twitter user wrote.

Whether Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart will participate in the series is unknown.
