'Imagine Dragons' lead singer Dan Reynolds's wife has officially filed for divorce after over 10 years of marriage.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Aja Volkman is asking a Los Angeles County judge to officially and legally end their relationship. Volkman filed for dissolution of marriage after the couple announced their split in September of 2022.
The former couple shares four children, daughter Arrow, 10, twin daughters Gia and Coco, 5, and son Valentine, 2.
“I am saddened to say that after many beautiful years together Aja and I have separated,” the singer tweeted, announcing the breakup. Adding, “Being great parents to our children is our number one priority. Thank you for always supporting us with love and care for all these years.”

Interestingly, the couple split back in 2018 but decided to get back together. The on-again-off-again duo even wrote a song together“Bad Liar” after patching things up.
Aja Volkman is also a musician and the lead singer of the indie-pop band, Nico Vega. The two met when they were both attending Brigham Young University in Utah and began dating shortly after. In 2011, they got married in a private ceremony in Las Vegas.
At the time, the singer wrote, “After 7 beautiful years together, Aja and I’s marriage has come to an end, our children continue to be the most important thing in our lives, & we will continue to co-parent them with all our love.”
As for custody, most likely the couple will split the time with their children 50/50. Volkman addressed the famous singer's parenting in an Instagram posting, saying, "
“I’m proud of you @danreynolds I’m proud of your humility and ability to still show up as the basketball-coaching baby-loving Dad that you are, I know that it’s been a crazy road. It’s killed us both in so many moments. Last year we killed each other and now we are rebuilding.”
Despite their separation, Dan and Aja have maintained a friendly relationship and continue to co-parent their children. In fact, they even performed together at a benefit concert in 2019. Both have been open about the challenges they faced during their marriage and the importance of mental health.
Dan has been vocal about his struggles with depression and anxiety, and Aja has been an advocate for mental health awareness. In 2019, Aja opened up to People, saying, "I think the biggest thing is to have empathy and compassion for each other. You have to be able to step outside of yourself and see things from the other person's perspective."
