Chuck Lorre is officially ready to work with Charlie Sheen again in a new series for HBO Max (or whatever it will be named by then) called How To Be A Bookie. It will star comedian Sebastian Maniscalco.

Variety is reporting the news and says that both Warner Bros. and HBO Max did not return their call for comment this could be because the show creator and actor had a weird relationship when they worked together last.

Sheen starred in Two and A Half Men for eight seasons before having an “explosive” fallout with Lorre on set. Sheen was also seen on top of the Live Nation building with a machete and a bottle of alcohol, he seemed to be celebrating a partnership to have some of those phases he was spouting at the time put on merchandise and sold. Remember "Winning" and "Tiger Blood"?

The actor royally ticked off Lorre with his antics on set and several seasons were very hard to get through because Sheen was supposedly abusing drugs and alcohol. Then to top it off, after he was fired from the show he essentially did a tour trashing Lorre and CBS.

Sheen did an interview with ABC News where he continued to trash Lorre publicly and speak on the fact that the show’s co-creator chose to kill him off with no potential for him to come back and muck up the show anymore.

Sheen was famously replaced by Ashton Kutcher and the show continued on for four more seasons before ending its run. To everyone’s surprise, Sheen appeared in the finale episode, and it turns out, his character wasn’t dead after all.

But in another shocking twist, a piano falls on his head rendering him like dead dead. When Sheen appeared back on the show it was unclear if he and Lorre had patched up their problems or if Sheen was brought back for the sheer nostalgia of the show and for the fans.

For some reason, Sheen is getting the opportunity to work with Lorre again on another sitcom but unlike in the past, he isn’t the center of attention. How To Be A Bookie has locked in eight episodes so far.

In addition to Chuck Lorre, the show is co-created by Nick Bakay. Star Maniscalco will play a “veteran bookie who struggles to survive the impending legalization of sports gambling, increasingly unstable clients, family, co-workers, and a lifestyle that bounces him around every corner of Los Angeles, high and low.”

Other actors rounding out the cast include Omar J. Dorsey, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, and Jorge Garcia. Lorre and Bakay will also serve as executive producers and while Sheen has a small role it’s unclear if it’s more in the supporting category or an episode arc guest spot.

What we do know is Lorre knows how to create a sitcom, Two and A Half Men won several Emmys
