Just three months after facing a near-death incident on the NFL football field, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is "fully cleared" to play football and plans to do just that.

"This event was life-changing, but it's not the end of my story. I'm here to announce that I plan on returning to the NFL," Hamlin said via NFL on ESPN.

On January 2, 2023, the 24-year-old NFL player collapsed in the middle of the field during the first quarter of the Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin was down on the field for several minutes as medical personnel rushed onto the area and gave him CPR for 9 minutes as his heart stopped.

After reviving him, Hamlin was loaded into an ambulance and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Although the NFL player was cleared, fans are worried about Hamlin returning to football.

"I disagree with that. If I were him, I would put my health first, then the game," one fan commented as another chimed in, "Don't rush any recovery. Nothing is worth more than your well-being- not even millions of dollars or pressure from fans and others. God bless. Peace."

While one fan pointed out, "The season is still months away. I'm sure he will take it easy at first and converse with his training and medical staff."

Another fan of Hamlin commented, "As a fellow member of the Cardiac Club, good luck! My thoughts are with you!"

As one user said, "NHL Hall of Famer Chris Pronger had a similar event when he was 23. He went on to play at a high level for 13 more years. Good luck on your comeback Damar."
