Bill Cosby’s sexual assault accuser scored a victory in her plea to depose the comedian in her legal battle.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a Los Angeles judge granted Chloe Goins’ request to take Cosby’s deposition while he is behind bars.
The judge noted Cosby failed to show good cause as to why the deposition should not proceed, which means Goins will be allowed to grill him about the alleged assault at the Playboy Mansion.
As The Blast first reported, Goins — who sued Cosby for sexual battery — pleaded for a judge to grant her request to depose the jailed comedian as part of her ongoing lawsuit.
Goins’ legal team proposed the deposition go down at SCI Phoenix (where Cosby is currently an inmate) on April 22, 2019 at 8:30 AM. They expect the deposition to last two days.
In addition, Goins’ attorneys wanted the deposition to be recorded by a court stenographer and on video.
Goins sued Cosby in 2016 alleging she met Cosby at the Playboy Mansion in 2008 and claims he slipped her a date rape drug. She previously accused Cosby of ducking her attempts to depose him after he claimed her case interfered with his criminal defense.
