According to Insider, Affleck, 50, and Damon were quite inseparable when they started as actors in Hollywood as they shared and did many things together.

During his recent appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," the "Pearl Harbor" star noted that they shared an apartment in Los Angeles alongside his brother, Casey Affleck, and Damon wasn't all that hygienic.

Affleck shared that Damon hardly picked up bills during their stay together, and neither did he clean and tidy up the apartment.

"We lived in the same house. It was just easier. Also, Matt's never paid a bill to this day that I know of. Like, 'Why aren't the lights working?' I'm like, 'Yes because the utility company needs money to fund our electricity,'" he narrated.

Affleck added, "Matt's a beautiful guy. I love him. He's my best friend. He's been great to me my whole life. He's a brilliant guy… I would not suggest living with him. Because he has an ability… Do you ever know people that block things out? I think he's such a great actor because he can focus, you know what I mean?"

The Affleck Had To Protest

Affleck continued by revealing that he and his brother had to go on a makeshift "strike" to provoke Damon to turn a new leaf, but their efforts proved futile.

"One of the things he blocks out is the idea that when you finish with something, it has to be washed or thrown away," he shared.

He continued, "So, finally, me and my brother, after cleaning up after the guy for years, we were like, you know what? We're going to go on a sit-down strike. We're just going to wait and see how long he will go before he gets up and goes: 'God, I'm covered in the garbage!'"

Affleck noted that their plan didn't achieve the intended success as he and his brother left for a while only to come back and see maggots everywhere because Damon didn't still clean.

"We were like, 'We submit. We submit. You're too good. We cannot beat you.' He was just like, 'Hey, what's going on, fellas?'" Affleck said.

"God bless his wife, Lucy. There's a place for you in heaven," he joked.

Damon previously shared that he and Affleck had to survive their early days as upcoming actors using a joint bank account they opened in high school.

"As long as one of us had money, we knew the power wouldn't get shut off," Damon shared during his recent appearance on "The Bill Simmons Podcast."

"I remember after doing 'Geronimo,' f*ck, I probably had 35 grand in my checking account, and I was like, we're good," Damon said, per Insider. "We're good for a year."

The actor noted that he and Affleck helped each other by using the money in their joint account to go for auditions and trips to New York.

"You were allowed to go to New York with the money," Damon noted. "You were allowed to take out $10, get quarters, go to the arcade, and play video games. Eventually, we were allowed to try to buy beer, which never f*cking worked."

During his appearance on the show, Corden asked Affleck whether he was "ever cut from" a project throughout his career.

The "Argo" star jokingly recounted several jobs he was "fired" from in his youth because he was a delinquent teenager before narrating his "bad" experience on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Affleck shared that he initially thought a particular line of his in the film was good but was forced to change his stand when he saw it on TV.

"I was feeling it. I felt authentically afraid," the actor shared. "And then I saw the movie with friends … and it sounded very different. And I realized right then they re-recorded my line."

"I was so bad. They needed me to be in the scene, but the director [Fran Rubel Kuzui] obviously [was like], 'I can't hear the voice again!'" he continued. "They had to pay someone to come in and say, 'Hey man, take it.' Because apparently, I couldn't say that convincingly enough."
