The family of R. Kelly's girlfriend finally made contact with their daughter for the first time in years, and they feel like they were able to make an impact.
Joycelyn Savage's family had a phone call with the girl soon after Gayle King's interview aired with the controversial R&B star. Held in attorney Gerald Griggs office, Savage told her family that she is doing just fine and insisting they should stop worrying about her.
"Nobody is listening, this is me, your own daughter," pleaded Joycelyn. Savage's mother asked if anyone else was listening in on the conversation, before her younger sisters, Jailyn and Jori, got on the phone.

Once the young girls told their older sister "We love you Joycelyn," there was a noticeable change in R. Kelly's girlfriend's tone, and she asked to speak to her mother.
Joycelyn's mother reminded her daughter, "Mommy loves you," and asked her to please come home. Joycelyn refused.
Gerald Griggs tells us they believe the first part of the phone call with Joycelyn was "scripted," implying that Kelly was pulling the strings with what she said. However, Griggs and the family believes the end of the call was "genuine," especially when she spoke with her younger sisters.
Joycelyn and co-girlfriend, Azriel Clary, also participated in an interview, which is scheduled to air Thursday.
