Former Pussycat Dolls Member Claims She Was Forced To Have An Abortion While In The Band

Kaya Jones has alleged that she was forced to have an abortion during her time with The Pussycat Dolls. During an interview, Jones noted that most of the other girls still don't have kids, likely because of their past.

The dancer has previously said negative things about The Pussycat Dolls, like claiming they were a prostitution ring. At the time, the other members issued a statement, saying her claims undermined the group's hard work.

Kaya Jones, a former member of the famous Pussycat Dolls, claimed she was forced into an abortion during her time in the band. During a recent interview on "Tucker Carlson Today," Jones spoke about the alleged forced termination and, when asked about the mastermind, said, "The powers that be."

The former singer shared that she agreed to the abortion because, at the time, the girl group was at the "height" of their career, and she was scared of losing her job. Jones also claimed that if any member of the girl group had gotten pregnant, they'd have been fired, so she got the abortion "in between rehearsals."

According to Page Six, she shared that the abortion had occurred during one of the Dolls' performances at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Jones added that the day consisted of her "hemorrhaging" and "losing" her unborn child while being criticized and told she had gotten fat.

During the interview with Carlson, Jones also noted that a "majority" of her former bandmates still don't have kids. She attributed to their allegedly being also subject to the intense pressure "and the forcing abortions" she endured. Former members, like Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, and Ashley Roberts, are yet to comment on these claims.

Asides from Jones, none of the women have ever spoken about abuse or forced abortions during their time as The Pussycat Dolls. Jones herself actually left the group before they hit fame with their 2005 and 2008 studio albums. Choreographer and founder of the group, Robin Antin, has also not commented on Jones' claims.

Asides from her abortion claims, Jones has previously made negative comments about The Pussycat Dolls. In 2017, she made multiple tweets that the girl group was "a prostitution ring." In an exclusive statement to The Blast, Antin responded by saying Jones was spewing "disgusting, ridiculous lies."

She also shared that Jones was only interested in "her 15 minutes of fame." At the time, the group also released a statement, saying Jones' claims "undermines everything we worked hard to achieve for all those years but also takes the spotlight off the millions of victims who are speaking up and being heard loud and clear around the world."

At the end of the statement, however, the "Don't Cha" singers said that if Jones might have had a private experience that the rest of the girls were "unaware" of, they "fully encourage her to get the help she needs and are here to support her."

After Jones' claims went viral, Antin filed a suit against the Daily Mail for the multiple stories it ran on the information. In the complaint documents obtained by Page Six, the other members said Jones was "disgruntled" and was actually never an "official member" of the group. They said she only had backup roles for two songs out of the many the group released.

The Pussycat Dolls officially disbanded as a group in 2010, and in 2020, they tried to hold a reunion tour. However, the tour plans fell apart, which led to another lawsuit against Scherzinger, blaming her for the cancellation. In response to the lawsuit, which was filed by Antin, the singer denied being responsible.

Scherzinger argued that the suit was baseless and failed to "state facts sufficient to constitute a cause of action." She also said her request to renegotiate the terms of the 2019 contract tour in 2021 didn't constitute a breach because the COVID-19 pandemic had affected the contract.
