Evan Rachel Wood is opening up about her former abusive relationship with an intense snap showing her self-inflicted wounds.

The "Westworld" actress posted what appears to be an old selfie clearly displaying the evidence of cutting on her wrist.

"2 years into my abusive relationship I resorted to self harm. When my abuser would threaten or attack me, I cut my wrist as a way to disarm him. It only made the abuse stop temporarily," she wrote on IG. "At that point I was desperate to stop the relentless abuse and I was too terrified to leave."

Wood, 31, also shared a set of old modeling shots, revealing she was severely depressed at the time of the photo shoot.

"The day of this photoshoot, I was so weakened by an abusive relationship. I was emaciated, severely depressed, and could barely stand," she wrote. "I fell into a pool of tears and was sent home for the day." The actress is sharing her emotional past as part of a movement called "I Am Not Ok," aimed at spreading awareness regarding physical abuse.

Wood has been honest about her emotional struggles in the past, revealing she once attempted suicide at 22 years old.

“It was morning; I felt as though I had been hit by a truck. Then with an almost hysterical acceptance, without thinking, I picked up the phone. It was one of those moments when you have a choice that goes beyond the initial choice you make by calling out for help: You can not die, or you can come back to life,” Wood revealed in an interview.
