Zendaya Gets Candid About The Difficult Part Of Dating Tom Holland: 'Really Don't Get It!'

Zendaya is shedding light on one of the complexities of her relationship with fellow actor Tom Holland. 

One of Hollywood's favorite couples, the pair met in 2016 when they both starred in Marvel's "Spider-Man" movie. Eventually, rumors of them dating were confirmed in 2021 when they were spotted making out in traffic. 

While the pair have stolen hearts with their coveted romance, there have been some complexities in their communication, which Zendaya recently revealed. 

It seems the golden couple having different cultural upbringings —Holland is British while Zendaya is American — has posed a slight barrier in their communication. 

While conversing with The Sun, Z, as she's fondly called, got candid about not understanding her boyfriend's South London lingo. "I love the ­British accent, but as much as Tom tries to explain it to me, I will never understand rhyming slang," the American-born actress explained.

She continued, "Like I understand the concept — but what do apples and pears have to do with stairs? It's cute when he tells me all the different phrases — but I don't get it!"

Despite not understanding the accent, the Emmy Award-winning actress is exploring the beautiful city of London. Last month, Hollywood's favorite duo was spotted in Waitrose supermarket in South West London holding hands. Additionally, they toured some historical sights and scenery in the city. They also went on a tour date at Hampton's Court Palace, where King Henry VIII once lived in.

Speaking of her life with the "Avengers: Endgame" actor in London, Zendaya said: "He is perfect in the kitchen, which is fortunate as I am accident-prone."

She added, "We learned early on that only one of us could be in the kitchen at a time; we are both control freaks, so we can't be in there together."

Zendaya's candid admission about not understanding her boyfriend's slang comes two months after rumors of their engagement made the rounds. As The Blast reported, tales of the "Spider-Man: Far From Home" co-actors taking their relationship to the next level began after Zendaya uploaded a picture of herself wearing a giant ring. 

In the snap the 26-year-old actress uploaded, she donned nightwear, apparently preparing for bed. She posed in front of a mirror and captured her upper body. However, the spotlight was on a diamond ring on her left finger. This caused several internet users to speculate about a possible engagement between Zendaya and Holland.

"No one can tell me Zendaya isn't engaged to Tom with a big yellow diamond for at least a year," a third fan declared. "They are def marrying this summer or something."

The "Dune" actress might have to get a hold of the slang as it seems she would be spending a consideble amount ofondon. Last year, reports surfaced that the sweethearts plan on making their love permanent.

A source close to the couple revealed their intentions to take their affair to the next level. The source stated, "They're both in settling-down mode and are planning for a real future together." The source further emphasized that the couple's love for each other is "serious and permanent."

Perhaps, the couple would get to update their fans on their future union as they judiciously keep their affair off the media. However, they have doted on one another in interviews. 

The "Uncharted" actor previously explained why they mostly kept their affair off the media. He said, "One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn't really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world … We sort of felt robbed of our privacy."
