"Saturday Night Live" viewers were in for a surprise when Jafar, the iconic villain from the animated film "Aladdin", made a special appearance -- and a special announcement.
During the show's "Weekend Update" segment, Jafar, played by Bowen Yang, spoke out against Florida governor Ron DeSantis due to the politician's ongoing legal battle with The Walt Disney Company.
DeSantis vs Disney
Last year, Ron DeSantis signed a law canceling the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a local government entity, targeting Disney World. He signed a bill that took control over the district and replaced the board with members appointed by DeSantis, and confirmed by the state Senate.
And on Thursday, the Florida Governor took another stab at Disney, "seeking to void an agreement that Disney passed to limit the power of a board appointed by DeSantis to oversee its Florida theme park property," per Reuters. DeSantis is continuing his war against Disney, claiming he wants to tax Disney World hotels and place tolls on roads leading to the theme parks.
The Governor also signed the controversial "Parental Rights in Education" bill, also known as the "Don't Say Gay" bill, which bans public school teachers from holding classroom instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity.
Bowen Yang Calls Out DeSantis
Bowen Yang, dressed as Jafar, came onto "Weekend Update" to address the ongoing battle between Ron DeSantis and The Walt Disney Company. Yang first called DeSantis an “amateur” villain, before adding, “He has no rizz, no spark, no drip ― the look is giving baby mayor. I mean, he did wear those white cowboy boots, but let's be honest, they wore him," he said as the show showed a photo of DeSantis wearing the cowboy boots Yang was referring to.
The Disney villain went on to call out the Florida Governor for banning certain topics within schools, saying, "Don't get me wrong the boy is plenty evil, I mean banning Rosa Parks in schools, I'm a dark sorcerer and even I was like 'Jesus dude it's Rosa Parks'."
The segment then moved to discuss Disney's stance against DeSantis's "Don't Say Gay" bill, to which Yang said, "If the boy thinks he can [prevent] Disney World from being gay, that carpet has flown," adding a sinister laugh. "I mean, if you opened up Grinder on Main Street, U.S.A. your phone explodes."
Jafar then came out as gay, exclaiming, “Of course, I’m gay, you petulant fool! My waist is snatched, my eyeliner on point, my final form is a yoked genie with gorgeous nails and a high micro-pony."

“Don’t say gay? Well, if there is no gay, there is no Disney,” Jafar, played by Yang, said. “And everyone loves Disney including you ’cause your dumb*ss got married there.”
Yang was calling out Ron DeSantis, as the Florida Governor continues his battle amid Disney, despite marrying his wife, Casey DeSantis, at the Grand Floridian Resort, located on Walt Disney World property, in 2009.
“Bravo for attempting to seize our precious land only to be thwarted once again by the House of Mouse,” Bowen, dressed as Jafar, continued to say on "Saturday Night Live".
