UPDATE
12:03 PM PT: Soulja Boy was just released from custody on his own recognizance after being booked and appearing in court.
It was noted that he was let out to be able to make his Friday night performance for the Los Angeles Clippers. Soulja is scheduled to perform during the halftime show when the Clippers take on the Chicago Bulls.
He also has an upcoming appearance in Texas that was noted.
It was revealed in court that the possible probation violation was triggered by ammunition found at Soulja's home. There is currently a pending investigation into the ammunition, as well as a formal probation violation hearing later this month.
Soulja Boy was taken into custody Friday morning on a possible probation violation.
The rapper is currently in a Van Nuys courtroom where a judge will decide on whether or not he violated his probation. It is unclear what led to this morning's hearing.
Soulja Boy was arrested back in 2014 for carrying a loaded firearm in public. He was then found to be in violation of his probation in 2016 after he was found to be in possession of a firearm.
He was sentenced to five years probation in 2017.
Soulja Boy is supposed to perform at tonight's Los Angeles Clippers game at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. It is unclear whether or not he'll be able to make it.
This is a developing story ...
