Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams wants to "look loud" on stage even though she has an introverted personality.

The 34-year-old singer might be pretty petite at 5’2”, but she has a big voice and a commanding stage presence that often accompanies her bold hair color.

From “Misery Business”’ “matchstick” red, orange, and yellow hair to her “Still Into You” split pink and orange hair, Hayley has proven that she can wear every color under the rainbow, leading many to wonder what new hair color she might try to achieve from Paramore's 2023 arena tour, which starts in May.

In a recent interview with Page Six Style, the “Running Out of Time” singer admitted that although she has an introverted personality, she loves to “look loud,” especially when she’s on stage.

“I love feeling like I look loud because sometimes that helps my introverted self kind of feel a little bit braver,” Hayley said, noting that her bandmates used to color her hair “using a boxed red dye from Walgreens” after the band first formed in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2004.

However, in 2006, she met hairstylist Brian O’Connor, who is now co-founder of her Good Dye Young hair-dye brand. At the time they met, though, he was working as an apprentice at the Pink Mullet Salon in Franklin, Tennessee.

“If it wasn’t for Brian, I would not be known for my hair,” Hayley recalled, adding that the duo “pretty much immediately got creative together.”

It’s really Brian who created the “Misery Business” hair that has become so iconic. He has also created the look for her “Emergency” music video and many of her hairstyles since.

The two launched the Good Dye Young semi-permanent hair color brand in 2016, and, just last year, opened a salon called Fruits Hair Lab in Nashville.

“I’m always wanting to tell a story with Hayley’s hair,” Brian said. “Hayley is a tiny human being — she’s a full-a** grown woman, but she’s just very petite. Anything that sparkled or caught the light basically went into that twist that first night,” he added, referring to the opening night of Taylor Swift and her massive The Eras Tour.

Paramore opened for the “All Too Well” singer in Glendale, Arizona, on March 17. He accessorized her large bouffant with faux pearls and sparkling clips to make sure that Hayley stood out on the massive stage.

When asked how he styles the “This Is Why” singer, Brian revealed that he turns to the music, or even the lyrics, to get a sense of what the song is trying to say. “I hear a song or a snippet or lyrics, and that’s when my mind really starts painting this picture that coincides with what she’s trying to convey — not only through her music but through herself,” he explained.

Recently, it looks like Hayley’s latest hair color has included a mix of orange and red with long black extensions. It’s unclear if Hayley is going to keep the look before the 2023 arena tour starts in May. When it comes to experimenting with her hair, Hayley admitted that she and Brian “aren’t too precious about all this s---.”
