Aubrey Plaza recently went viral for a resurfaced 2013 interview where she spoke about "The To Do List." In the interview, Plaza claimed the film's director made her masturbate in a room full of old guys, the film's crew.
That same year, Plaza said the masturbation scene was a very "nerve-wracking" experience. Thankfully, the actress later found safer and more successful roles, like the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation."
Plaza has multiple upcoming projects, including a role in Marvel's "Agatha: Coven of Chaos." The actress also plays a female Bond role in Guy Ritchie's "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre."

Aubrey Plaza Claims She Was Made To Masturbate In Front Of A Film Crew
During a 2013 interview on "Conan," Aubrey Plaza spoke about her role in the rom-com "The To Do List," about a high school girl ticking off raunchy things from her checklist before college. Plaza played the part of the high schooler, Brandy, and spoke specifically about a scene in the film where her character masturbates.
When asked about the scene during the interview, Plaza claimed that the director, Maggie Carey, had made her masturbate. She said, on Page Six, "I read it on the page, and it said, 'Brandy masturbates.' And in my head, I envisioned a nice scene where you see my hand slowly go out of frame."
When Plaza showed up for filming, the crew had the cameras mounted to capture her fully for the scene. She said, "I was in my underwear and a [Bill] Clinton T-shirt, and there were a bunch of old men smoking — you know, the crew guys." But the actress admitted she was joking about the men there smoking, saying it was uncomfortable that they were there.
She recalled, "I asked the director, 'What should I do?' And she said, 'Masturbate — as it says in the script. And then I went, and I touched myself." Plaza shared that the "full-body shot" used for the scene caught her off guard. Thankfully, the film didn't show any of the actress's private parts in the final cut.
The Scene Was 'Nerve-Wracking' For The Actress
During another interview with The Oregonian that year, Plaza shared that the "masturbating scene was one of the most nerve-wracking" things she's ever done. She said, "In my head, I thought, 'Oh, we'll probably shoot this in a way where I don't have to do it.'"
Plaza also spoke about another scene where her top fell off, and she was "running around with all those kids." She added, "You know I'm a method actor, so I was topless, and I think I scarred some of those kids for life. So that was more nerve-racking for them, but they deserved it."
Aubrey Plaza's Star-Turning Role In 'Parks and Recreation
Plaza started gaining prominence with films like "The To-Do List" but eventually found fame with more stable roles on the popular NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation." In the series, she played the role of cynical office assistant April Ludgate and quickly became famous for her deadpan delivery and stoic persona.
A source from "Saturday Night Live," Plaza hosted in February this year, shared that the actress is the same as her "Parks and Recreation" character. They said, "She is the same, but warmer — sarcastic and warm. She was awesome on the show. She's friends with many people here, and everyone was rooting for her."
Plaza's fame has only increased from project to project. Her performance in HBO's "The White Lotus" earned lots of praise from fans, a Golden Globe nomination, and a "Best Ensemble" award for the series at the SAG Awards.
Aubrey Plaza Has Several Upcoming Projects
Plaza has multiple projects underway, including a role in Marvel's "Agatha: Coven Of Chaos." During a cover story interview with GQ Magazine, the actress also revealed that she's been working on a secret family-friendly movie project.
Plaza shared that the project channels "Hocus Pocus" and "Beetlejuice," and she's starting off her journey to "fill the female Tim Burton slot." She's also producing the movie through her Evil Hag film production company. Aside from that, Plaza plays a "female Bond" role alongside Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie's new action-comedy film.
In the film "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre," Plaza and Statham are two CIA agents trying to outdo each other in their jobs.
