Former "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart surprised guest host Roy Wood Jr. on Tuesday's episode dressed as legendary "Star Wars" character Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Roy Wood Jr. discussed the big news of the day, which featured the arraignment of former U.S. President Donald Trump in New York.

After discussing the Trump arraignment, Wood lamented the pressures of being a guest host, saying that a good host has to not only be funny and satirical but also have to be "powerful" and they have to "go viral."

"I don't know what to do. I just wish I had somebody that I could talk to, to guide me," he said, which was Jon Stewart's cue to appear in dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Wood pretended not to recognize the former late-night host, who ran the program from 1999 to 2015. "I used to work here when the budget wasn't as big a few years back," Stewart joked. "I actually hosted the program, to be honest with you."

After Wood joked, "The Daily Show had a white host?," he asked why Stewart was dressed as a Jedi. This then launched into a debate with Wood complaining that he didn't want to be compared to Luke Skywalker.

This went back and forth for a bit until Stewart agreed to be Yoda. Wood called it an apt comparison, telling Stewart that he is "all hobbled and green and s---." Wood said that he would be Lando Calrissian, for "obvious reasons," prompting Stewart to joke, "Is this a trap? Yeah, because you both have mustaches?"

Stewart then decided to impart some much-needed wisdom to Wood. "My point is this, Roy, and thank you for having me on the program," Stewart said. "And you're doing a fabulous job, by the way. The thing about this historic indictment is that…"

Before he could explain himself, Wood bluntly told him that they were out of time. Wood is just the latest in a long line of celebrity guest hosts who have taken over the show until a new host is found.

'The Daily Show' Welcomes Multiple Guests Hosts After Trevor Noah's Departure

Wood has been a longtime correspondent on "The Daily Show" and is only one of the many celebrity guests hosts on the show since former host Trevor Noah gave up his seat.

Other celebrity hosts have included Chelsea Handler, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Al Franken, D. L. Hughley, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, and Marlon Wayans.

A month after he left the show, the South African comedian appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and confessed that he is not following the news as closely since leaving the show.

He recalled how he previously had to “wake up, watch the news, go to sleep” every single day. Although he does not miss the "grind," he says he does still miss "the people, the culture, and the vibe" of the show.

“Making a daily television show, in many ways, is like planning a wedding,” he explained. “So you’re thinking who are the guests? What are you gonna wear? What’s gonna happen? Who’s gonna be making a toast? What will the speeches be about? What’s everybody eating? Who’s sitting where? How’s it all going? And then the wedding happens, and then you go, ‘Alright, we’re doing another wedding tomorrow.”

Comedy Central President Chris McCarthy has indicated that “The Daily Show” is scheduled to relaunch this fall, but the new permanent host has yet to be announced.

"The Daily Show" airs on weekdays at 11 PM on Comedy Central.
