Christian-born model Sofia Richie recently announced on her Instagram that she has converted to Judaism. Describing it as "one of the greatest experiences" of her life, Richie expressed her gratitude towards the Jewish community for welcoming her with open arms.

Her conversion comes ahead of her wedding to fiancé Elliot Grainge, who is Jewish. Via her IG stories, Richie thanked her Cantor, Nathan Lam, who assisted her throughout the conversion journey, writing: "What a magical day. I want to thank cantor Nathan Lam for helping me to convert to Judaism."

"It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Today was that day!!!" she added.

Born to four-time Grammy Award winner Lionel Richie, Sofia Richie's upbringing involved a strong Christian influence, having attended Oaks Christian, a Christian school, for two years.

In an interview with Complex, she shared details of her religious upbringing, saying, "My family wanted the church to be a place where we all went together." 

"My Dad was always traveling, and my mom was always working. School is where I did Bible classes and studied God," she added.

On the other hand, her fiancé Grainge comes from a music industry family, being the son of Lucian Grainge, the CEO and chairman of Universal Music Group. According to Daily Mail, for his bar mitzvah, Grainge had the acclaimed pop group Take That, who was at the top of the charts in the UK at the time, perform.

Talking to Jewish Boston, Grainge gushed, "Take That played at my bar mitzvah! They were No. 1 in the UK at the time. The party was great fun and gave me a real taste of creating an exciting party."

Richie and Grainge's love story began in early 2021 when they started dating. The duo made their relationship on Instagram official in April of the same year.

Since then, the duo have been inseparable and engaged on April 19, 2022, while on a breathtaking tropical vacation. Getting on one knee, Grainge proposed to Richie against a mesmerizing backdrop, surrounded by candles and flowers.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Richie shared stunning images of their engagement on Instagram, with a heartwarming caption that reads, "A lifetime with you will never be enough, my love."

As her big day approaches, Richie has been preparing to look her best on her wedding day. Recently, the media star took some time to indulge in pre-wedding pampering for that perfect bridal glow.

Sharing a glimpse of her beauty regimen with her followers, Richie posted a photo on her Instagram story of the entrance to the luxurious Sev Laser Aesthetics skincare and spa center, captioning it "pre-wedding touch-ups @sevlaseraesthetics."

The week before, Richie has also been sharing glimpses of her excitement on social media. In one post, she can be seen relaxing in her backyard, dressed in a cozy gray sweater, black jeans, and pink heels, captioning the image with "The countdown begins."

She included bridal emojis in her post, hinting at her excitement for the upcoming nuptials, and her dear friend Paris Hilton showed her support by commenting, "Can't wait, sis!".
