Iggy Azalea is working on a new album!
The rapper, who has neither released a single nor featured on other people's projects since 2021, has pleased her fanbase with the confirmation of an upcoming music project. The update comes shortly after Azalea — real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly — teased some new music on social media, prompting fans to show just how ready they are for her musical comeback.
Iggy Azalea Announces That Work On Her Fourth Album Is Underway
When Azalea dropped her third album, "End of an Era," she informed her beloved fanbase that she would take "a few years to focus on other creative projects" and things that she felt "passionate and inspired by beyond music." And true to her words, the "Pillow Fight" rapper has yet to drop anything new, instead focusing on her OnlyFans career as part of a larger multimedia project.
Luckily, fans do not have to wait longer for the "Sip It" hitmaker's fourth studio album to drop as she reminded them of it recently. Over the weekend, the mother-of-one shared a shot that showed her working with other music gurus in a studio.
The 32-year-old lounged in a chair donning a baggy two-piece, with her wavy blond curls left to drop down her shoulders. Her feet were covered with white socks, and she poked out her tongue as she threw up the peace sign. Underneath the image, Azalea told her 17.2 million followers:
"In what I feel is a rather fitting & comical mistake, this is the only image I have to let you all know how beyond happy & grateful iam [sic] to be working with the man, the myth & the infinite legend [Tricky Stewart] on my new album. I feel the music we've made is already filled with magic."
The Bad Dreams signee appreciated the record producer and his team's input during the process, adding that she was "already overflowing with excitement for everything to come." Azalea also thanked others who contributed to the album and finished:
"I can't wait to come back and work harder and get better, together! I'm so grateful to be making another project!"
"The pictures will come! You put in the work and weren't focused on anything but the music," Stewart effused in the comments. One fan gushed, "OMG, Iggs, they are not ready for your COME BACK. I can already feel the magic in this photo! Your comeback is better than your setback."
A second fan yelled, "Omgggggggggggggg, I am screaming because I know the music is going to be on a whole different level. I'm so ready." A third person claimed that the "best Hip-Hop album" was incoming, and a fourth wrote that the "Queen is coming for her right recognition."
A fifth fan said they were "So excited!!" because Azalea's "new era will be even more special than anything you ever produced." A sixth Instagram user was "glad" to see the rapper walk back on her plans to quit the music scene.
The last time the three-time Teen Choice Awards winner addressed her hiatus was last August. Per The Blast, she had taken to Twitter to announce her return to the music scene, penning:
"A year ago I was willing to walk away from music because I was tired of the negative energy it attracted. But what I've learned is that even when I'm minding my business, y'all gonna be negative AND nosey. So if I can't have peace, neither can you. I'm coming back. Cry about it."
The tweet quickly got people's attention, garnering over 21k likes and 3k retweets. Many fans updated her on their joy in the replies and quotes.
The Grammys Nominee Lands Mouth-Watering Deal With Music Company
Azalea's bragging rights went up after she sold the master and publishing share of her biggest singles to Domain Capital for an undisclosed eight-figure sum. The Blast reported in November 2022 that some of the songs included in the deal the Billboard chart topper signed were "Fancy," "Kream," "Black Widow" (ft. Rita Ora), and "Problem (ft. Ariana Grande)."
The "Started" artiste confirmed the sale while addressing a concerned fan who tweeted, "I just hope she doesn't end up like Taylor [Swift] (no shade at all, just using it as an example)."
In response, Azalea clarified that people had nothing to worry about because, unlike her colleague who "did not profit from that sale," she had made so much money from the sale of parts of her catalog that she did not "have to work another day in my life."
The "Mo Bounce" rapper tweeted that the business side of "masters" ownership was unfamiliar territory to her fans, even though she loved them.
