In a cover story for Billboard, the adorable pair opened up about their decision to keep their romantic lives away from the public's prying eyes. Taking the lead, Rosalía explained that the couple wanted to solidify their love.

"We wanted to solidify our relationship and build its foundations, and then, if the music were meant to come, it would come," the Spanish songstress said.

Chiming in, her doting fiancé echoed similar sentiments, adding: "Plus, we were in different stages in our careers, and we wanted to make our fans focus on what we were doing, which was our projects."

Alejandro continued, "People love drama in entertainment, and a romantic relationship will always take precedence. We felt that if ours came to light, the effort we've both made toward our projects and music would come second."

Given their passion for music, the pair found a kindred spirit in each other when they first met at a Las Vegas hotel lounge in 2019 during the Latin Grammys. The meeting came after months of virtual communications through their Instagram DMs.

Recalling the sweet moment, Alejandro described it as love at first sight, noting that Rosalía donned a black Alexander Wang jumpsuit. Following their undeniable chemistry, the duo's affection for each other infiltrated their careers as they began collaborating.
