On a recent episode of "Let's Talk Off Camera" with Kelly Ripa podcast, Kate Hudson spoke candidly about her early days in the entertainment industry. The "Glass Onion" star discussed how she struggled with the intense media scrutiny that came with her meteoric rise to fame.

"When I got famous, there were so many lies; it was so weird because, in my mind, it felt so unjust, like this is unfair," she said, per People magazine.

Hudson expressed her frustration with the lies and falsehoods in the press and the unfair treatment of women in the media. "They were so mean to women. I mean, the body-shaming from being too skinny to too fat to going up your skirt and the cellulite."

According to Hudson, being in the limelight greatly affected her romantic life. She shared that she couldn't talk to a man without the media automatically assuming they were dating. "I couldn't speak to a man without being partnered with him. I couldn't sit and say hello to someone," the actress said.

As the relentless attention and scrutiny became overwhelming, the actress revealed that she struggled to cope with it. "There was so much of it at such a rate that I couldn't in any way comprehend that I just realized I need to figure out how to not care about any of this," she shared.

After a while, Hudson said she refused to let the negativity get to her, and she found ways to rise above it. She emphasized the importance of not letting the negative energy dictate her life, saying, "You just realize that you're letting them win the more you feel bad."  

"If I'm going to allow this negative energy to get into me, they win. I've given them all my power," Hudson added, per People.

Recently, Hudson opened up about a painful experience in a TikTok video. The actress recounted a moment when she received harsh criticism for her fashion choice at the 2001 Academy Awards.

Back then, Hudson, nominated for the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in "Almost Famous," wore a stunning Stella McCartney gown to the award ceremony. The dress featured a silver lilac rhinestone fabric, a back cutout, and an embroidered mini capelet with fringe detailing around the collar.

However, the gown's vintage charm was heavily criticized, and Hudson was questioned for her style and appeared on several "Worst Dressed" lists.

Reflecting on this experience, Hudson shared that she almost believed the naysayers, but after a second look at the ensemble, she thought, "This dress is awesome.' I love it."

Once considered a fashion faux pas, the glamorous gown is now celebrated as trendy. In a recent interview, Hudson mentioned the possibility of revisiting the piece.

"We were way ahead of our time on this. I encourage any thoughts — maybe we should take it out again. Should I wear this and restyle it?" the actress pondered. Her fans, always supportive, agreed with the idea and couldn't help but rave about the stunning outfit in the comments.
