Katy Perryand her fiancé Orlando Bloom are taking the sober route as the "Teenage Dreams" singer reveals she has a three months "no-alcohol pact" with her partner. Perry shared that she is now "5 weeks sober." When asked if she would break the pact, the singer affirmed her dedication to the pact saying, "I can't cave. I made a promise."

Perry and Orlando first met at a Golden Globes after-party, then started dating shortly after. A year later, the pair split briefly but later reconciled. The couple welcomed their daughter in 2020.

"Roar" hitmaker Katy Perry recently revealed that she has a three-month no-alcohol pact with her fiancé Orlando Bloom and is now five weeks sober.

During her appearance at a curated cocktail event at NYC's Mister Paradise on Monday, Perry told People magazine she is "five weeks sober." 

"I've been doing a pact with my partner [fiancé Orlando Bloom], and I want to quit," she added while jokingly pretending to wipe her tears away.

When fellow "American Idol" judge Luke Bryan asked if she was going to break her pact and have a quick drink, Perry was quick to decline the offer saying, "No, girl! I can't cave. I made a promise. Three months."

The "Never Really Over" singer and Bloom first met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016 and reconnected over burgers later that night. However, a year later, in March 2017, the duo announced they were "taking a respectful, loving space at this time."

The duo reconciled and rekindled their love later that year, but during their months-long split, Perry admitted that she was nearly suicidal. The pair made their red carpet debut in September 2018 and eventually got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019 in a special way.

Perry recalled the moment on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," saying, "It was very sweet. She continued, "It was Valentine's Day … we went to dinner, and I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner, but we pulled up to a helicopter.

"It was really sweet. He asked me to marry him in a helicopter," Perry added, per Page Six.

In March 2020, the "American Idol" judge announced she and the "Pirate of the Caribbean" actor were expecting their first child together. She broke the news during an Instagram live after the premiere of her song, "Never Worn White." 

"There's a lot that will be happening this summer; not only will I be giving birth — literally — but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for," she told her fans.

In August 2020, the couple welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, announcing her arrival via a statement to Unicef. "We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," they wrote in a message to the international child-advocacy group. But we know we're the lucky ones, and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was."

Although the couple seems to have a perfect relationship, Bloom recently shared a rare glimpse into the challenges they've had to overcome together.

In an interview with Flaunt Magazinethe "Lord of the Rings" alum shared, "We're in two very different pools."

He continued, "Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging."

Bloom admitted that navigating their busy work schedules while being long-distance for long periods is the most challenging part of their relationship. 

"I won't lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity, [but] I think we're both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there's definitely never a dull moment," he shared, per Page Six.
