Details on the situation are still pending. However, the New York Police Department released a statement that Majors was arrested due to accusations of allegedly assaulting a woman during a domestic dispute. Police officers reportedly received a 911 call from an apartment in Chelsea. The scene involved a 33-year-old male allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female.
According to the NYPD, "The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident." The male was identified as Majors, and the woman reportedly sustained minor injuries to her head and neck, and she was later taken to the hospital, per the authorities.
Majors' spokesperson said the actor was later arrested on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment. He is not currently in police custody. The relationship with the alleged female victim was described as a "domestic" one with Majors.
A representative for the actor told THR, "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."
Majors' career is currently riding high at the moment. He recently starred in two huge movies, "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania," released in February, and "Creed III," released earlier this month. "Quantumania" has grossed $208 million domestically and $465 million worldwide. Meanwhile, "Creed III" is the highest-grossing movie in the "Creed" series thus far, making $130 million domestically and $226 million worldwide. The film also did very well with critics, scoring 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.
With Majors portraying the villain Kang the Conqueror for Marvel Studios, he's also expected to star as the character in "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," due out on May 2, 2025. He's also expected to reprise the role in Season 2 of "Loki" due out later this year on Disney+.
Additionally, his next film, "Magazine Dreams," is due on December 8, where he portrays a bodybuilder. In September, it was reported by Deadline that he was in talks to portray Dennis Rodman for the film, "48 Hours in Vegas." The story is based on a spec script inspired by NBA star Dennis Rodman going on a madcap romp with his nervous assistant GM in the middle of the 1998 NBA Finals.
The film is expected to focus on the friendship between Rodman and his assistant GM where they both help each other solve their problems. Lionsgate bought the rights to the feature, produced by "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, along with Aditya Sood. Ari Lubet, Will Allegra, and Rodman are executives producing the project. Jordan VanDina wrote the screenplay.
Majors' other previous credits include "Lovecraft Country," "White Boy Rick," and "The Last Black Man in San Francisco." How this incident will affect Majors' future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and acting roles remains to be seen.
