The soon-to-be mother is counting down till she welcomes her first child after taking a break from tennis, with hopes to return in 2024. She recently made her followers' day by dropping a stunning carousel on Instagram captioned with an emoji of Japan's flag and featuring her baby bump and the scenic view of her native land.
Two of the four photos showed Osaka posing sideways on the street in Japan, with tall buildings surrounding her while she paid no attention to the crowd in the background. She was stylishly dressed in oversized pants and a cropped custom-made jersey top, exposing her swollen midsection.
She paired her outfit with large hoop earrings, a dark baseball cap, and beige sneakers. In the third slide, her back was captured, and fans could see 97 boldly written on her jersey, alongside her last name. The concluding slide was a filtered video of the 25-year-old athlete featuring multiple bright colors and a double replica of herself.
The unexpected baby bump reveal was good news to her followers as they showered the update with love and multiple comments of admiration. "Glowing mama," a fan gushed while another exclaimed, "Mama in Japan – better not delete this!!!!!!!!!!" At the same time, a third fan compared her look to Rihanna's fashionable pregnancy era.
One other fan noted that she was glowing before expressing happiness in seeing Osaka in high spirits. Meanwhile, a fifth commenter, solely focused on the star's outfit, penned, "If these are not the coolest clothes I've seen in my life, I'm lying."
Several more fans were taken with her gorgeousness, with a few pointing out how radiant she looked. However, some forgot she was pregnant and admitted so while congratulating her.
Shortly after, the October-born celeb went on to her Instagram Story and uploaded a picture of herself donning the same outfit with her hand caressing her pregnant belly and without her face showing. The latest reveal comes two months after Osaka's shocking pregnancy announcement on Instagram, where she added a detailed message elaborating on her brief break from tennis.
She shared snaps of an ultrasound screen and began her caption by expressing anticipation to "get back on the court" while giving her followers "a little life update for 2023." Using both English and Japanese, the Australian Open titleholder wrote that the past years had been interesting yet challenging, and stepping away from the court made her feel more grateful for the game.
"I realize that life is so short, and I don't take any moments for granted," she continued. "Every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future."
One thing she looked forward to was her child seeing her play and proudly telling people that "that's my mom." She also hoped to return to sports next year, as 2023 was a year of lessons for her.
The Four-time Grand Slam Singles Champion Talks About Her Pregnancy In A Candid Interview
Toward the end of February, Osaka opened up about her pregnancy journey to PEOPLE during an occasion in West Hollywood. She touched on her preparations for the birth and revealed that while she knew her unborn child's gender, her partner was clueless.
The 5 ft 11 inches sportswoman then said, "So it's not like I can build out the room or anything," before adding, "So I don't know, [I'm] just kind of winging it. That's kind of the key motto in my life a little."
Osaka further spoke about her partnership with Victoria's Secret, which she admitted, helped destress her pregnancy as she had been sticking to comfortable loose button-downs from the collab.
She explained more about the designs, describing them as "great as a relaxation," after which she conveyed her anticipation to experience the challenges of motherhood and learn amid the "new adventure."
