The woman accusing Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton of sexual assault just held a news conference with her attorneys and claims she feared Walton would rape her during the alleged incident.
Former SportsNet LA host Kelli Tennant held a press conference Tuesday in Los Angeles with her attorney, Garo Mardirossian.
Before the conference, Mardirossian claimed the lawsuit Tennant filed is also aimed at the “gender abuse” in the NBA. “As alleged in the lawsuit, women connected to the National Basketball Association (NBA) have long had to suffer in silence through the indignities of gender abuse and sexual exploitation at the hands of famous, wealthy and powerful men,” he wrote.
Mardirossian continued, “Luke Walton – a former professional basketball player and the former Head Coach of the Los Angeles Lakers – is one of these men.”
While speaking during the conference, Tennant became emotional while retelling the allegations that Walton pinned her onto a bed and groped her during a meeting in a hotel room. She claims she felt Walton was going to rape her during the alleged incident.
She also spoke about the alleged harassment that continued after the hotel room incident, including the charity event where she claims Walton made vulgar comments about her dress. As we reported, photos of Tennant and Walton smiling together were taken during the event and later scrubbed from the charity website after the lawsuit against the NBA coach was filed.
Tennant and her attorneys did not name a particular amount of money they are looking for in damages, and claim the sports host never filed a police report because she did not want the former Los Angeles Lakers coach to be put in jail.
