Luke Perry will continue to be an inspiration to generations to come after the building was named in honor of the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star.
Perry’s 19-year-old daughter, Sophie, just revealed a school she had helped construct in Malawi has been named “Luke,” after her father.
“Thank you to everybody who donated to help with our projects! Our first school is finished and I can’t tell you how proud and excited I am to see it open on Wednesday, Sophie wrote.
She added, “Thank you to my amazing partner Ruben for everything. Especially for fighting to name the school after my dad.” Standing in front of the school, “Luke” could be seen painted on the outside wall of the facility.
Sophie recently returned to Malawi after handling the final arrangements for Luke, and said, “it feels right to come back, to finish what I started, to do the most with whatever time we have left.”
She also admitted that, “It was quick and scary to leave home again so soon, but there’s a job to be done, and someone to make proud.”
