11:00 AM PT -- Columbus County Animal Control tells The Blast they have not yet been contacted by the sheriffs, but tell us if Evan's dog is dead, there is nothing they can do. They only deal with claims of abuse against living animals.

9:50 AM PT -- The Columbus County Sheriff's Office says they responded to Jenelle's home Tuesday at around 7:30 PM for a welfare check "on an occupant of the residence," but were unable to make contact with anyone.

They say deputies returned Wednesday and made contact with David Eason, and the deputy "confirmed that the occupants of this residence were okay."

Cops say they have passed on the information concerning the shooting of the dog over to Columbus County Animal Control.

9:45 AM PT -- Jenelle's "Teen Mom" co-stars have been reaching out to show support after Nugget's death.

"Teen Mom" star Jenelle Evans says she's "speechless" after her husband, David Eason, shot and killed her french bulldog, Nugget.

The incident went down Tuesday in North Carolina after Nugget snapped at their 2-year-old daughter, Ensley. Eason posted video of the alleged nip from Nugget that caused him to shoot the dog.

"I dont give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face... whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I dont put up with that sh*t at all," Eason wrote on social media.

He added, "I'm all about protecting my family, it is my lifes mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want but this isnt the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively."

Eason also posted a photo of his daughter's face, showing what appears to be a red mark from Nugget. According to Radar Online, the Columbus County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call informing them of the shooting.

Wednesday morning, Evans posted about Nugget and said, "I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless. You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me. You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons."

The reality star added, "You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back."

R.I.P., Nugget.
