The "Level Up" singer made a statement as she arrived at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty with her husband of seven years, Russell Wilson. The couple turned heads with their stylish entrance, but her outfit truly stole the show. With some people criticizing the dress, the star decided to address the backlash.

The 36-year-old star showed up at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, looking gorgeous in a bold fashion statement that caught everyone's attention but also drew some negative feedback. 

The actress had a hilarious response to the criticism surrounding her red-carpet outfit. She posted a TikTok video where she could be seen covered from head to toe with a sheet while striking various poses for the fake cameras.

The clip was shared with her 3.6 million followers and was a clever clap back to her detractors. It showed that the talented artist took the backlash in stride and even saw the humorous side of the situation. She wrote in the caption, "Selective outrage ?," and her fans could not but agree with her, like this person who joked, "Ciara's Thought "You happy now?!" ???."

Another follower hailed her by noting that she was reminding everyone that she was fashion's it girl, writing, "Ciara reminding the masses, that she's that girl, always been that girl and will forever be THAT GIRL! My Queen purrrr ?? ??."

The Blast reported that not all fans were impressed with her outfit choice and were divided in their opinions. The gorgeous star did not hesitate to flaunt it and posted a short clip on Instagram set to M.I.A's 2012 hit, "Bad Girls."

The reel captured the mother-of-three twirling in front of a white door and posing for pictures with her husband, NFL player Russell Wilson, and rapper Megan Thee Stallion.  

Despite garnering over 800,000 likes, critics took to the comment section to air their thoughts, like one follower who noted that although they loved Ciara, they blamed her beau for letting her "walk out naked" and advised him to "step up."

Another person angrily opined that she was making a "mockery of her husband, marriage, children, and Christian beliefs." They believed her need for attention was more than her " respect for family and Christ" and described her as unfulfilled with life.

Some, however, saw the beauty in the floor-length outfit and chose to defend the model, like this fan who reminded everyone that Wilson said he wanted a woman who could tilt the room and asked them to "check the manuscript!! He's happy, and so is she. The End."

The pair are no strangers to being couple goals. They started dating in 2015, got engaged a year later, and exchanged vows in a private ceremony in England in July 2016. 

Since then, they have welcomed two children and her first son, Future, from a previous relationship. Both celebrities are known for their impeccable style and often stun fans with their bold fashion choices at events and public appearances.

The Blast shared that in a recent outing, the TV star flaunted her banging in a head-to-toe chocolate brown monochromatic outfit. A double-breasted leather trench coat accentuated the stunning look.

She paired the look with a sheer dress that exuded sexiness and sophistication. Keeping her hair sleek and edgy in a bob, she accessorized with oversized dark sunglasses and large earrings.

To complete the look, she wore brown leather-coated knee-high boots, flaunting all angles of her outfit as her song "Paint It, Black" played in the background. In the caption, the 37-year-old wrote, "One of those Nights ???."
