Tyler Cameron Gets Candid About Money Struggle While Dating Gigi Hadid
Tyler Cameron, a former contestant on season 15 of "The Bachelorette," recently opened up about dating one of the most popular models in the world, especially since he only had $200 in his bank account. Cameron dated Gigi Hadid from August to October 2019 and recently discussed his experience on Jason Tartick's "Trading Secrets" podcast.
Tartick shared a conversation he had with Cameron in which the reality TV star confided in him about his financial situation. "He [Tyler] goes to me, 'Dude, I don't know what the f**k I'm doing," Tartick said per Insider. "I got $5,000 in my bank account. I don't know what my next job is, and I'm dating Gigi Hadid." In response, Cameron corrected him, saying, "not even $5,000; I had like $200."
He Needed His Father's Help To Pay For His Dates
Talking about his finances in his early days living in the Big Apple, the reality star shared that he was squatting with fellow Bachelor Nation alum Matt James. "This is in my early days of living in New York City. I'm living on Matt's beanbag." He added, "Have no money, but I'm like the happiest I've ever been 'cause the world is wide open to me in New York City. I can do whatever I want."
While Cameron recalled that period fondly, he remembered a few instances when he required financial help to fund his dates with Hadid. "I'd remember I'd be going on dates, and I'm like calling Pops up in the bathroom," he shared. "I'm like, Pops, I don't think my credit card's gonna go through. I need you to send me some money right now. And he's like, you got it, son. Go get it!"
He further revealed that, at the time, he only had a debit card and wasn't familiar with credit cards. "I got a straight debit card, so when you hit zero, you hit zero, you know. So I'm just crossing my fingers, hoping it swipes, and it just kept swiping," he said.
Tyler Cameron's Dating History
After his relationship with Hadid ended, Cameron was romantically linked to Camila Kendra from January 2021 to August 2021, and he dated model Paige Lorenzo for a brief period during the summer of 2022.
He was spotted kissing Kristin Cavallari at a New Year's Eve party, although Cavallari later clarified that they were just friends and had nothing serious going on between them.
While Cameron had previously shared stories of crashing on Matt James' beanbag when he first arrived in New York City, he admitted last summer that they aren't as close as they used to be, primarily due to his relationship with Rachel Kirkconnell.
Tyler Cameron Started His Construction Company
Since his early days in New York City, Cameron has undoubtedly come a long way. The "Bachelorette" star started his construction company in 2021.
In a YouTube video in 2021, the 30-year-old shared that he wants to follow in his father's footsteps of building homes. He noted that building is his "passion," and that he wants to develop his business in his hometown. Cameron said, per People magazine, "I'm going to start digging my roots here in Jupiter, building my own company, building my own houses."
Apart from his roles as a contractor and a reality TV personality, Cameron also serves as a co-founder and ambassador for ABC Food Tours. This non-profit organization aims to assist children in underprivileged neighborhoods.
