John Singleton's funeral took place on Monday and while the legendary director will be missed, he was remembered as someone who did a lot for those trying to break into the business.
Ice Cube, Taraji P. Henson, and Stevie Wonder were among those who paid their respects during his "Celebration of Life," which took place at the Angeles Funeral Home in Crenshaw (the same place where Nipsey Hussle's funeral took place).
We're told Tyrese was one of the people who spoke at the event, talking about Singleton always provided an opportunity for young actors and helped many people get their careers off the ground. Singleton's longtime friend Malcolm Norrington, who had small roles in "Higher Learning" and "Boyz N The Hood," also spoke, as did some of Singleton's family.
Also in attendance were Bret Ratner, F. Gary Grey, Ryan Coogler and Morris Chestnut.
Afterward, Singleton was taken to Forest Lawn cemetery in Hollywood Hills to be buried.

As The Blast previously reported, Singletonās mother filed his will with the court last week and it names his eldest daughter Justice the beneficiary. Sheila Ward says the will calls for her to be the executor of the estate, which she agrees to.
John Singleton passed away last month after suffering a stroke.
He was 51.
