Bindi Irwin has updated her fans on her health following the significant surgery she recently underwent for endometriosis.

The mother-of-one has revealed how her recovery journey is going one week after she shocked the world with news that she had suffered symptoms of endometriosis for several years. She shared the update with a picture she snapped after the procedure, highlighting the need for attention to be drawn to the fact that some doctors ignored the severity of the condition until it was too late.

Bindi Irwin Is Remaining Positive About Her Health Amid Her Recovery From Endometriosis

For the last decade, Irwin has been dealing with the painful condition where the tissue similar to the endometrium — the lining of the uterus — grows outside this layer, causing pain and affecting fertility.

The "Wildlife Warrior" star recently got relief after meeting a doctor who could effectively operate on the affected areas and has since begun her recovery process. To share how things had been so far, the conservationist shared a photo that showed her holding a bouquet of red roses with her 5.1 million followers.

The 24-year-old closed both eyes as she partly covered herself with a white blanket while sitting in a bed. Irwin wore a black top and smiled goofily, with her hair set in a messy bun and a makeup-free face. Below the adorable image, the television personality told fans:

After appreciating the people who shared their endometriosis experiences, she shared that she could "finally see a new me on the journey towards better health." The "Dancing with the Stars" season 21 winner added that she was impatient to start focusing her energy on her  family and the conservation work she was "so passionate about."

Irwin finished the(Instagram caption by sending "love and light" to her fans and followers. Within hours of sharing the post, it received almost 300k likes, with thousands of people stepping into the comment section to drop their support.

"Good, get plenty of rest and feel better soon. Thank you so much for spreading so much awareness for us endo warriors," one satisfied netizen wrote. Another person admitted that even though they had followed Irwin's career for years, her story was more special because she was honest about her struggles.

A third fan noted their gladness that the "Bindi the Jungle Girl" alum was using "this time for physical and emotional healing," and a fourth encouraged her to take her time with the recovery process.

Fans began rallying around the Daytime Emmy Awards winner just before this year's International Women's Day when she announced her health challenge. As reported by The Blast, Irwin had posted a snap of her lying down in a hospital bed while donning a white and blue gown on Instagram.

The Australian-born beauty explained in the caption that she had "struggled with insurmountable fatigue, pain, and nausea" while remaining a "positive person" and hiding the pain had been "a very long road."

Over the years, the "My Babysitter's a Vampire" actress has undergone several scans and met a medical practitioner who claimed that her symptoms were things that women could live with. The lengthy caption also featured an appreciation for the doctors and nurses who "believed" her misery and a plea for people to stop asking women about their fertility plans.

The Conservationist Gets Resounding Social Media Applause From Her Family

The Blast reported that shortly after Bindi informed the public of her health troubles, her family, including her husband Chandler Powell, showered her with love on social media. The 26-year-old shared a selfie of him and his wife standing on the beach, gushing in the caption about being inspired by her.

He disclosed that he would be "forget inspired" by how "Curious George" voiceover star "pushed through the pain to take care of our family and continue our conservation work." Another person who dropped a public comment was Bindi's younger brother, Robert Clarence, who used a snap of him and the recovering patient to express joy that she had her "life back." 

Meanwhile, the "Trouble in the Jungle" songstress's mother, Terri, quoted her Twitter announcement of the ailment, lauding her daughter for her resilience and strength during the journey. 

The 58-year-old, who hoped the event would give "women everywhere" the courage to advocate for their "health & healing," finished her praise by calling Bindi "a beacon of light."
