Busy Philipps is opening up about her own experience with abortion following the controversial Georgia law that passed permitting women to terminate a pregnancy after six weeks.
The actress revealed she had an abortion over two decades ago during a Tuesday taping of her show, "Busy Tonight."
"Here is the reality," Busy began. "No bill that criminalizes abortion will stop anyone from making this incredibly personal choice, but these laws will put more women at risk. Every woman deserves compassion and care, not judgment and interference when it comes to their own bodies."
Busy then opens up about her own abortion with tears in her eyes.
“I had an abortion when I was 15 years old and I’m telling you this because I’m genuinely really scared for women and girls all over the country,” she said directly into the camera.
Visibly upset, Busy attempts to transition to the topic of the Met Gala, but is obviously shaken.
“Is that a hard left turn?” she asked. “Yeah, it is. Is it kind of jarring? Yes, it is also kind of jarring. But, guess what? That’s what being a f—ing woman is. Having a regular Tuesday and then suddenly being reminded that people are trying to police your body. And then you just have to go back to work.”

Busy later tweeted that she felt the need to talk about abortion because she "can not sit idly by while women's rights are stripped away."
On Tuesday, Georgia was added to a list of three other states that passed the so-called fetal heartbeat law, permitting women from getting an abortion after six weeks, which is when doctors can usually begin detecting a heartbeat.
This isn't the first time Busy's gotten real with her fans.
Last year, she opened up about being raped at age 14, saying she was inspired to tell her story following Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony against Brett Kavanaugh.
Lady Gaga, Alyssa Milano and "Girls" stars Jemima Kirke and Andrew Rannells also joined Busy in their support of Ford.
