A 65-year-old violin instructor claims he was assaulted in front of his wife and two students by security for the Los Angeles Dodgers and now he's suing the team for assault and battery.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Marvin Palatt claims he was at Dodger Stadium on July 9, 2017 to celebrate his birthday.

Palatt says he approached a Dodgers employee for a voucher for a miniature souvenir bat for a student that was accompanying him to the game. That's when, he claims, a Dodgers security guard "violently grabbed" him from behind and "wrapped his arm around" his neck.

He claims the security guard then slammed into a fence, fracturing his rib, and accused Palatt of resisting arrest. According to Palatt, several other security personnel came to the scene, forced his arms behind his back, and led him away.

"All of this conduct was done in front of plaintiff's wife and minor students who had accompanied him to the game," the lawsuit states.

In his lawsuit, filed today by attorney Barry Novack, Palatt is seeking unspecified damages.
