Kaity Biggar not only won a place in Zach Shallcross's heart after her one-on-one date in the museum, but she also won over America's heart as she is now a front-runner and fan-favorite in this season of "The Bachelor".
However, the 27-year-old is now admitting that she almost quit the reality television show.
Kaity Bigger Nearly Quits "The Bachelor"
Kaity Biggar recently appeared on the "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" podcast, where she opened up about how she landed the spot on the ABC reality television show.
"My Aunt Jill nominated me [for The Bachelor] and yeah, I was super excited... Thank you, Aunt Jill!" Biggar told co-hosts Joe Amabile and Aaron Clancy. "But when I first got the email, I thought it was spam, and I told my friend, 'Look at this, this is so funny.' And she was like, 'No, Kaity, I actually think that's serious.' And I was like, 'Oh sh-t, okay.'"
She then went on to disclose how she almost rejected the offer. "And then I actually wasn't going to come," she said on the podcast. "I think it was when I first got the official phone call, like the green light and thumbs up, I was shaking in my boots. I was like, 'I don't think I'm going to come'. [That]'s not a good look, obviously. So, yeah, I was extremely apprehensive."
Kaity Biggar Admits To Not Being A Fan Of The Show
Not only did Biggar almost deny the offer to come onto the show, but she also went on to admit she isn't really a fan of the franchise to begin with.
"I watched the show before and, Aaron, I've actually seen your [The Bachelorette] season. But Zach's [The Bachelorette] season, I didn't really watch that much," the "Bachelor" contestant said.
And although Biggar is from the same city as Shallcross, she confirmed that she has never seen or ran into him prior to the show. When she first saw his photos during casting, she recalled thinking he was "super handsome".
Who Are The Four Remaining Women?
On the latest episode of “The Bachelor”, fans watched in shock as Zach Shallcross sent Kat Izzo home ahead of hometown dates, making Kaity Bigger one of four remaining women, alongside Ariel Frenkel, Charity Lawson, and Gabi Elnicki.
After the episode aired, Kat Izzo broke her silence, admitting to feeling shocked when she was sent home.
“I did [feel blindsided]. I definitely could reflect on where my feelings were at in that moment, and they were feeling off. But I wasn’t thinking that that was gonna be something that overtook our relationship,” Kat Izzo told US Weekly. “We had one hard week, but we also had five good weeks. So I thought that was going to be something to show my family that like, ‘Yeah, sometimes we’re not perfect. Sometimes we struggle. But he’s wanting to love them through that.’ I was hoping that was going to be him. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. But it’s OK.”
“The Bachelor” continues Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The episodes are available to stream the following day on Hulu.
