'RHONJ' Star Melissa Gorga Talks Selling $2.5 Montville Mansion, Christina Aguilera Friendship

Melissa Gorga appeared on the February 12th episode of "The Wendy Williams Show" and during her chat with the host, she opened up about the recent sale of her $2.5 million mansion in Montville, New Jersey.

While promoting the new season of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" at the end of last week, Gorga admitted that she and husband Joe Gorga had a tough time unloading the massive home as she confirmed she and Joe are building a new home and gushed over her friendship with singer Christina Aguilera.

“It sold. It took a while," Gorga admitted, via a clip shared on YouTube.

According to Gorga, she and Joe struggled to get rid of their home because it is so big.

"It’s a large house. It’s a very specific buyer but yeah, it’s finally sold. It’s done. We did not take a loss but we did not take a win either," she shared. "It wasn’t what we wanted, of course, but we’re happy with it. We’re not disappointed at all. It did start at a higher number and we came down."

Gorga went on to say that when it comes to giant homes, they simply aren't as trendy as they were years ago, even to her.

"The big mansions were so in for so long and everybody wanted these large homes. Now, you couldn’t pay me to put me back in one of those monstrosities. I’m over it," she confirmed. "I’ve been there. I’ve done that. We’re building again and it’s going to be… not as big. [We’re building] in Franklin Lakes.”

Looking forward to her new home, which is currently in the midst of being built, Gorga said she'll have plenty of closet space.

“One of my big things was closets. Listen, it’s still going to be a beautiful home. We’re designing it right now. I just don’t need… I want it different, a little bit more modern. It doesn’t have to be as massive but of course, Joe and I are building it so it will be great," she teased.

“We’re excited. I like new beginnings,” Melissa added.

Speaking of her friendship with Aguilera, Gorga confirmed she and the pop star met through a mutual friend. 

"I love her. We actually met through a hairdresser," she shared. "Christina is a huge fan of the show and she loves Joe and I and she wanted to meet me and we met up and had dinner and were friends. I just love her. She’s a good soul. She’s a good person."
