WWE is known for their wacky wrestling storylines.
Every now and then the company pulls a stunt that leaves fans scratching their heads and wondering "what the heck were they thinking?"
Last night's episode of Monday Night RAW was no exception.
One segment had the wrestling community abuzz, and it involved a WWE Diva's announcement.
Lacey Evans was set to team up with Peyton Royce to take on Charlotte Flair and Asuka. However, when Royce tried to tag her partner in, Evans said she couldn't wrestle, and there was a good reason why.
The Pregnancy Announcement
Currently, Evans is in a feud with Charlotte Flair, which involves Charlotte's father the legendary Ric Flair.
Onscreen Lacey and Ric are a couple, and their romance has angered Charlotte. The pair is wrecking havoc with Charlotte's wrestling by flaunting their relationship in the middle of her matches.
On last night's RAW, their storyline heated up further when Lacey announced she's pregnant.
A joyful Ric, then celebrated the news with his signature "Woo" catchphrase and doing his signature strut.
Needless to say, the segment left everyone in shock.
Lacey Is Actually Pregnant
At first, fans believed Lacey's announcement was part of a WWE storyline.
Yet, news soon broke that Evans is indeed pregnant in real-life.
This will be the second child for the 30-year-old former Marine and her husband Alfonso Estrella. The pair are already parents to an eight-year-old daughter named Summer.
As seen by Lacey's social media accounts, her husband and daughter are important to her. She often posts photos of their family trips or chores on their farm.
No details have been given about Evans' second pregnancy, but the wrestler and her husband are ecstatic about having another baby.
Pregnancy Used In A Storyline
Although, Evans is pregnant and the news has been shared with the public, many are wondering what's next for the wrestler.
Evans was set to face the RAW Women's Champion Asuka at the Elimination Chamber PPV on February 21st, but she's now been pulled from the match.
As for Evans taking time off, well it turns out she'll continue to be on WWE television for a little while longer.
According to reports, WWE plans to use Evans' pregnancy in the current storyline with Ric Flair.
Fan Reactions
After learning news that Evans is pregnant in real-life, fans sent out their congratulations to the star.
Evans is just one of many stars to be part of wrestling's baby boom. Her former onscreen nemesis Becky Lynch, welcomed daughter Roux in December.
Although, fans are happy for Evans, they aren't thrilled with WWE using her pregnancy as part of a storyline.
As seen in the past, WWE has a history of using a wrestler's personal life to help further their storylines. A majority of the time, it leads to negative reactions from the audience.
WWE fans are already dreading what the writers have in store for Evans' storyline moving forward.
